  • Patent number: 5342433
Abstract: The vertically suspended filter bags of a dust collector are periodically shaken in a bi-modal manner, to removed adhered dust. Repetitious motions applied to the closed bag bottoms are comprised of a long lifting stroke, to partially fold the bags, followed by one or more short strokes of higher impulse, to simulate a rapping or hammering. Apparatus which effects the process includes a motor driven cam that lifts, and then drops, a shaker bar mounted transversely to the bag bottoms, and a device for stopping the cam in a position which leaves the bags hanging freely for further collection of particulate.

  • Patent number: 5223005
Abstract: A fume and dust collector system is comprised of a semi-rigid tubular filter compressively held against a sub-base by a beam. To dislodge accumulated particulate, a combination of gravity hammer rapping of the beam compressively loads the filter wall and pulses of air discharged into the filter interior tension the wall. The filter is removed through the top of the enclosure and particulate is removed through a drawer at the bottom.

  • Patent number: 4877431
Abstract: An impingement separator for removing entrained liquids and solids from fluid streams is configured to produce radially inward or outward flow of the fluid within its housing. An array of static impingement members or vanes circumscribes the inlet or outlet port where the fluid flows radially. For inline applications, the preferred device has opposing inlet and outlet port; a central plate divides the housing into two portions connected by a peripheral plenum; and, there are arrays of vanes around both the inlet and outlet port attached to either side of the plate.

  • Patent number: 4363640
Abstract: An electrostatic precipitator having a collecting cell and an impactor assembly to remove contamination from the collecting plates within the collecting cell. The impactor assembly includes an elongated first member having a major portion of the mass thereof disposed at a first axial extremity, and structure for pivotally mounting the elongated first member at a second axial extremity which allows pivotal motion of the first axial extremity of the elongated first member between first and second positions. The first position is at a higher elevation than the second position and the first axial extremity of the first elongated member is disposed in contacting relationship with the collecting cell in the second position. A cam is provided for urging the elongated first member into the first position which releases the elongated first member for movement under the influence of gravity from the first position to the second position in at least one position of the cam.
