  • Patent number: 11661841
Abstract: An inexpensive electrically conductive carrier is added to well bore fluids thereby allowing for a closed loop real-time data communication system for topside management of all downhole equipment including drilling, completion, production, logging, and workover equipment. Conductive carrier fluid provides a “real-time” digital and analog bi-directional data and communication solution between the surface operations of a well-bore and downhole tools. Conductive carrier fluid provides for the application of more sophisticated software essential for exact control requirements of sophisticated downhole equipment, thereby achieving optimized tool performance as well as future downhole tools.

  • Patent number: 10959071
Abstract: A system for roadway two-way radio frequency communication includes at least one radio transceiver, a carrier medium and at least one repeater. The carrier medium has a length and includes a plurality of carbon fibers embedded in a matrix. The carrier medium is configured to propagate electromagnetic signals produced by the transceiver along the length and to emit radio frequency signals in a direction transverse to the length over a short range. The at least one repeater is communicatively coupled with the carrier medium and configured to repeat, along the carrier medium, signals produced by the transceiver. A method for producing a system for roadway two-way radio frequency communication includes forming a carrier medium by providing a conductive additive to a matrix, applying the carrier medium to a roadway surface and coupling a radio transceiver to the carrier medium.

  • Patent number: 5341344
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting objects around a vehicle, comprising a plurality of microwave-transceiver sensors for transmitting microwave signals to reflect off objects around the vehicle. The reflected signals are received and passed to a control unit for comparing the received signal to a transmitted signal to determine whether a detected object constitutes a threat to the moving vehicle. An alarm means is connected to the control unit and activates upon the receipt of an alarm signal when the control unit determines a detected object constitutes a threat to the vehicle.
