  • Publication number: 20240157957
Abstract: A method for controlling motion of a heavy-duty vehicle includes estimating a current vehicle state comprising at least velocity and acceleration, wherein the estimated current state is associated with a current state uncertainty, estimating a future vehicle state based on the current vehicle state, and on a predictive motion model of the vehicle, wherein the future vehicle state is associated with a future vehicle state uncertainty, defining a vehicle control envelope representing an operational limit of the vehicle, wherein the vehicle control envelope defines a range of vehicle states, comparing the estimated future vehicle state, and the associated future vehicle state uncertainty, to the vehicle control envelope, and, if a probability that the future vehicle state breaches the control envelope is above a configured threshold value, limiting a motion capability of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20240148975
Abstract: An injection device for subcutaneously administrating a maximum content of a product container through a cannula at a distal end of the product container, comprising a device housing having an opening at a proximal end, a module housing for covering the opening, which module housing is separable from the device housing by a separating operation, a drive which is arranged in the device housing, for moving an advancing element and for the one-time automatic ejection of the contents of the product container. An electronics module is held in the module housing, with a sensor for detecting the discharging, and a mechanical securing mechanism is provided for enabling the separating operation as or after the automatic ejection is triggered.

  • Publication number: 20160036798
Abstract: A system for authenticating an identity of a user is disclosed. The system comprises a processor and a non-volatile storage medium comprising computer executable instructions to instruct the processor to receive an image file relating to the user, from a user device owned by the user; determine whether the image file matches stored image information ma database, wherein the stored image information is not an image file and contains identifying information about the image; and, if the image file matches the stored image information, allow the user to request an authentication message be sent to the user device, request that an authentication message be sent to a destination oilier than, the user device, or request that a message be sent to a third party whose message addressing information is unknown to the user.

  • Patent number: 9129088
Abstract: An “audience” object describes a collection of users who are known to or expected to view a display. Access control and processing of access dependent contents for an audience are implemented so that information before being displayed is limited to what is authorized for every member in the audience to access. An operator can preview what an expected audience would see. The operator is aided in determining what the effects would be of a newcomer joining an audience. The operator is aided in determining who in an audience causes a difference in authorization. Hardware can be tied in with the access control software.

  • Patent number: 9003295
Abstract: Display regions for representations of results of transformations applied to access control settings for a resource appear integrated with a familiar representation of the resource, e.g. word processor, or Web browser. A number of functions modify layout and transformations, and those functions are available for invocation, e.g. through mouse gestures or key combinations. Users are graphically represented by displays comprising photographic likenesses. Groups can be shown as individual users. Giving someone access to a resource can be as easy as dragging that person's likeness. Access log information can be shown together with access control settings. Reviewing the subset of resources available to a user is made easier. Overflow indicators replace scroll bars. Macros effect snapshots of volatile sets of users. Sections within documents can be omitted automatically if a user lacks authorization. Access control settings for one resource can be linked to be dependent on settings for other resources.

  • Patent number: 8558760
Abstract: High efficiency drive circuitry for a group of parallel-connected light emitting devices, in which each device is driven in series by a respective source of bias current. The maximum voltage drop among the group of biased light emitting devices is determined and in response, a control voltage to drive all the light emitting device at the lowest effective voltage for the LED group is produced.

  • Patent number: 8405362
Abstract: An apparatus and method for a portable device incorporating a battery and a battery charger. In the portable device, there are a plurality of system components configured to facilitate a plurality of functions that the portable device is designed to perform. The battery in the portable device is configured for providing an internal power supply to the plurality of system components in the absence of an external input power supply. The battery charger is configured for charging the battery when the external input power supply is available. The battery charger disclosed herein is capable of supplying system power to the system components when voltage of the battery that is being charged is below a limit, thereby allowing the portable device to operate when voltage of the battery drops below the limit.

  • Patent number: 7795846
Abstract: A switching circuit for converting an input voltage into an output voltage has an input terminal for receiving the input voltage. A power switching element is coupled to the input terminal and has duty cycle d controllable to adjust the output voltage with respect to a desired level using inductor current representing current in an inductor element connectable to the power switching element. An average and hold circuit is responsive to a voltage at an output of the power switching element to produce an average switch voltage over an ON phase of a switching cycle of the power switching element. A voltage-to-current converter is responsive to the average switch voltage for producing representation of an average inductor current over one or more switching cycles. A current modulator having a duty cycle equal to 1-d modulates the representation of the average inductor current to produce a signal proportional to an average output current of the switching circuit over one or more switching cycles.

  • Patent number: 7777455
Abstract: A switching circuit coupled to one or more input sources and having one or more switching elements controlled to produce an output for charging a battery. A first control circuit is responsive to current of the switching circuit for producing a first control signal to drive the switching element so as to control the current. A second control circuit is responsive to voltage at the battery for producing a second control signal to drive the switching element so as to control voltage developed across the battery. A selector circuit is responsive to the first and second control signals for selectively controlling the switching element.

  • Publication number: 20020038929
Abstract: The present invention provides a modified shock absorber, which comprises a shock damping tube, an upper spring seat, a lower spring seat, a fixing ring, a resilient part, and a bearing seat. The resilient part comprises two springs of different spring constants. The bearing seat is used to connect the two springs up and down in series. Because the spring of larger spring constant restores to its original state more easily, and the spring of smaller spring constant absorbs energy more easily, higher effect of stability can be provided when they are connected in series. In other words, two springs of different spring constants connected in series are exploited to absorb energy in two steps so that a car will not easily skid and will have better stability when making a turn.
