  • Publication number: 20220002357
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) assay platform comprised of two complementary systems that equate dynamic intermolecular interactions between a receptor and transducer with more complex stimulus-response cascades in living cells. In the disclosed in vitro ADSoRB method, the forced dissociation of transducers like G protein heterotrimers from receptors alters receptor conformations and ligand interactions to simulate pathway activation in a cell. In the disclosed TRUPATH method, measuring the extent of engineered G protein heterotrimer complex dissociation provides single transducer resolution in a cell.

  • Patent number: 10301630
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and compositions for inducing expression of Ube3a in a cell by contacting the cell with a topoisomerase inhibitor. Particular embodiments include a method of treating a genomic imprinting disorder, such as Angelman syndrome, in a subject by administering to the subject an effective amount of a topoisomerase inhibitor.

  • Patent number: 4222486
Abstract: A vertical cylindrically shaped container has a top surface defining a flat horizontal spiral which has an inner and substantially coincident with the longitudinal axis of said container and has an outer end at the outer periphery of said surface. The spiral has a plurality of spaced holes disposed along the path defined by the spiral, whereby a separate drill bit can be removably disposed in a corresponding hole and extends in a direction parallel to said axis. An elongated slider element having an opening therein slidably engages said spiral whereby said element can be moved back and forth therealong, said opening overlying said spiral. A circular cover overlying said top end is manually rotatable thereabout, said cover having a radial slot therein extending from the center to the periphery, the element extending upwardly through said slot and being slidable therein whereby said opening can be selectively aligned with any one of said holes and access to all other holes is blocked simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 4157076
Abstract: A device which, when secured to a non-horizontal planar rotatable wheel, will display the position of rotation of the wheel with respect to a reference position. The device utilizes a flat member defining in a plane a spiral path of constant cross-sectional area and constantly increasing radius. The member has a solid central area at which the spiral terminates and has a free end at which the spiral starts. Suitable bases secure the member to the center of the wheel in a position spaced thereabove. A loop element slidably engages the member.

  • Patent number: 4081079
Abstract: A manually programmable card selector apparatus comprising a hollow rectangular container having a top section which has a card receiving opening and slidable rods disposed within grooves receiving apertured clips secured to the cards which extend beyond the opening to support the cards and retract to provide delivery of selected cards to an opening in an end wall by a discharge chute.

  • Patent number: 4078330
Abstract: An elongated length of flexible hollow tubing is wound into a helix. First and second battery powered lamps are detachably inserted into the first and second opposite open ends of the tubing. Each lamp has a pair of normally open flexible contacts in the tube. The lamp is dark when its contacts are open and is lit when its contacts are closed. A member is slidable in the tubing and has sufficient weight to close either pair of contacts when engageable therewith. The lamps can be replaced by electric bells.

  • Patent number: 4070760
Abstract: A vertical upright U-shaped member has two parallel legs with parallel vertical inner and outer surfaces, the inner surfaces being adjacent and parallel to each other, one leg having a horizontal bore extending transversely between its inner and outer surfaces and disposed adjacent the upper end of this leg. A sleeve is removably disposed in the bore. A flat disc lies in a vertical plane and is secured to the inner surface of the other leg, with its center aligned with the bore axis. A shaft engages the sleeve, with a front non-magnetic portion extending through the bore into the space between the legs and with a rear magnetic portion extending outwardly from the outer surface of the one leg. Another disc parallel to the one disc is secured to the front end of the shaft. An elongated cylinder having a horizontal axis has at one end a magnetic element coupled to the rear end of the shaft. Manual rotation of the cylinder causes the shaft to rotate.

  • Patent number: 4014103
Abstract: A measuring device which may be employed to afford both linear and non linear dimensional information without limitation as to quantity. The device is contained in a housing of circular cross section, the housing being manually rolled between the start and end points of that which is being measured automatically registering with the use of a ball marker the distance travelled between them. By reversing the direction of roll, subtraction is also automatically performed and registered. The device is particularly useful in measuring distances between points along circular or other non linear paths.
