  • Publication number: 20130015714
Abstract: A smart power portal able to supply electrical power to attached or connected electronic or electrical devices is disclosed. The portal, which can be a power strip or wall-mounted unit, includes a receiver, a transformer, a direct current (“DC”) converter, and a Greeny port. The receiver, in one embodiment, is coupled to an alternating current (“AC”) power source for drawing electricity of AC power, and the transformer is able to convert at least a portion of the AC power to DC power. The DC converter is able to convert the DC power into a grade of DC voltage levels, and the Greeny port is coupled with a removable electronic device. The portal, in one aspect, includes multiple outlets wherein each outlet provides an independent or specific voltage level of DC power output. The Greeny port, in one example, is capable of detecting minimal power required to operate the removable electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20100319747
Abstract: A multi-layered solid-state thermal-electrical generator (“MSTEG”) system capable of generating electricity from thermal energy is disclosed. An MSTEG system includes a thermal layer, a regulating layer, and a storage layer. The thermal layer, in one embodiment, includes multiple integrated thermal-electrical generator (“ITEG”) devices configured to generate electricity in response to a certain thermal condition. The thermal condition for example can be a temperature difference between 900° C. (Celsius) to 1200° C. for a certain layer. The regulating layer includes multiple thermal regulators deposited over the thermal layer, wherein the thermal regulators regulate temperature. The storage layer includes one or more thermal storage tanks deposited over the regulating layer, wherein each thermal storage tank is capable of storing heat.

  • Patent number: 6167123
Abstract: A PBX call discrimination system which provides voice, FAX, and data services utilizing one telephone number (DID) for each local line being serviced. The PBX connects incoming lines to local lines serviced by it. Each local line is identified by a DID received in a call setup message on the incoming line. The PBX stores information associating a voice call extension, a FAX line, and a modem line with each DID. The PBX identifies an incoming call as being a voice call, a FAX transmission, or a data transmission. The incoming call is connected to the FAX line associated with that DID if the incoming call is identified as a FAX transmission, and to the modem line associated with that DID if the incoming call is identified as a data transmission. FAX and modem servers can be connected to the PBX for directing FAX and data transmissions, respectively, to the intended called party. The routing information utilized by such servers is provided by the PBX.
