  • Patent number: 4545607
Abstract: In a door hinged to a frame having a locking channel pivotally mounted upon a vertical axis upon its closing edge aligned with the door and interlocked with an elongated engaging element upon the frame, the channel being sufficiently movable relative to the door that it disengages the engaging element so that the door may open, and a blocking member movably mounted upon the door in one position retaining the channel in a locked position when the door is closed and movable to a release position; the improvement comprising; a lever or knob rotatably mounted upon the door and a linkage movably mounted upon the door interconnecting the lever or knob with the blocking member for moving the blocking member to its release position so that the channel moves to disengage the engaging element. The linkage includes a clutch operated actuator pivoted upon the door in operative engagement with the blocking member.

  • Patent number: 4093284
Abstract: In a door having a connecting link to a door frame of an improved locking mechanism on the closing edge of the door which includes a longitudinal engaging element movably mounted thereon. A corresponding longitudinal counter element is connected to the door frame; is generally parallel to and interlocked with the engaging element. The engaging element extends over at least a substantial part of the door height. Said engaging element is sufficiently movable so that it disengages the counter element so that the door may open relative to the frame. A blocking device is movably mounted on the door and in one position, retains the engaging element in locked position when the door is closed. A grip mechanism is movably mounted on the door and connected to the blocking means for moving it to a release position so that said engaging element can move to disengage said counter element.

  • Patent number: 3969845
Abstract: A door hinged in a frame at one edge has a pivotal locking element along its other edge, with a longitudinal groove cooperatively receiving a counter-locking projection on the frame. The locking element includes a rotation stop to prevent the rotation of the door beyond closed position. The locking element is sufficiently rotatable about its pivotal mounting that its groove is disengaged from the locking projection for opening the door. A spring interconnects the locking element and the door for biasing the locking element in open or closed position. Grips are fastened respectively on one side of the door and to the locking element on the other side of the door. The rotation stop has an angularly arranged plate extending into an opening in the door with a projection on its free edge registerable with a corresponding projection on the door to limit opening pivotal movements of the locking element.
