    Abstract: A method for modeling a prosthetic CMC thumb joint, and the joint manufactured therefrom, involves anatomically locating the two non-perpendicular and non-intersecting axes of rotation for the joint. The surface of revolution about these two axes, which is a torus, is then used to mathematically model the bearing surfaces of the prosthetic joint.
