    Abstract: A touch-operated display for a CRT faceplate includes a plurality of optical gates for energizing light-emitting diodes in response to generation of the CRT raster thus eliminating the need for external switching of the beam generating means to produce the grid of crossing light paths. A frame is disclosed for mounting the light sources, detectors and common optical gates--all of which take the form of silicon chips.
