    Abstract: A distillation device is provided which comprises a vaporization zone, a condensation zone, a vapor permeable barrier between the vaporization zone and the condensation zone comprising a membrane having a plurality of openings, and means for maintaining an air pressure gradiant across the barrier whereby air pressure on the vaporization zone side of the membrane is greater than air pressure on the condensation zone side of the membrane.
