  • Apparatus for guiding lift truck mast segments

    Abstract: This is a unique mast roller as is used by lift trucks, and the like. It is characterized by a number of roller assemblies which are both removable and adjustable to compensate for variations in spacing between channel track members brought about by manufacture and by wear. Shims of different sizes can be inserted to compensate for this variation and said shims are of a configuration to allow fastening members to be removably installed. The plates supporting the rollers in this assembly are of a construction so as to provide adequate bearing surfaces for side movement between the channel guide members.

    Abstract: This is a unique method and apparatus for installing and replacing pivot pins in steering mechanisms. The method is characterized by removing existing pivot pin and bearing assemblies and replacing them with an apparatus which comprises a pivot pin and bearing assembly having a self-lubricating arrangement. This arrangement supplies lubrication through the pivot pin itself to the bearing.

    Abstract: This is a high-velocity scavenge pump and spray nozzle arrangement utilized for spraying oil onto an oil spray type clutch utilized in vehicles such as industrial trucks and the like. It is characterized by the utilization of the return fluid from an hydraulic device, such as a power steering motor, wherein a velocity block is utilized with a suction line scavenging oil from the crankcase and utilizing the oil scavenged from the return line for the clutch spray, returning the excess from the suction line to the hydraulic fluid tank which supplies the power device concerned.

    Abstract: This is a unique center pivot steering mechanism for lift trucks, and the like. It is characterized by a unique angular control yoke center mounted upon the steering axle and with equal and like steering control connections to two wheels with an offset control and activation arm connected to a steering control apparatus. The radius of turn of the outer turning wheel is regulated so as to be greater than that of the inner turning wheel.
