    Abstract: Staining in the underarm areas of garments due to the presence of perspiration and the residue of an aluminum salt containing anti-perspirant is preventable by incorporating into the anti-perspirant composition specific water soluble mild reducing agents including various sulfur or phosphorus compounds or stannous or titanous salts. Alternatively, the reducing agents rather than being incorporated into the anti-perspirant composition may be employed to treat the soiled garments prior to washing or dry cleaning the garments.
