  • Patent number: 8877321
Abstract: A novel sizing-adhesive composition for corrugating characterised in that it comprises at least one low molecular weight, water soluble polymer such as a maltodextrin, corrugating boards prepared therewith and methods of producing them.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 19, 2010
Date of Patent: November 4, 2014
    Assignee: Cargill, Incorporated
Inventors: Freddy Johannes Martina Andriessen, Leonard Jannusch, Peter Obradovic-Sandmann
  • Publication number: 20130248088
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to sizing-adhesive compositions that combine a sizing component and an adhesive into one sizing-adhesive composition that strengthens the paper, resulting in less paper used and stored, and reduces costs. In one aspect, the process runs at lower temperatures, thereby reducing energy costs. Aspects of the present invention are directed to using these compositions in a process for applying the sizing-adhesive composition to optimize the bonding and sizing of papers. In one aspect, the process produces a corrugated paperboard with acceptable strength at a reduced cost. In another aspect, it provides a means of making a more sustainable packaging material by utilizing less paper, a renewable packaging material, and less energy compared to the current process used to produce corrugated board. In another aspect, the method allows for printability as the application of glue over the surface creates a flatter and more uniform surface.

  • Publication number: 20090223057
Abstract: A shaving aid material is provided that includes a water-soluble lubricious shaving aid in combination with a water-insoluble erodable medium. In some embodiments, the shaving aid material further includes a water-soluble thermoplastic polymer, and may also include a plasticizer. Optional additional ingredients include emulsifiers, surfactants, skin conditioners, fragrances, depilatory agents, cleaning agents, medicinal agents, etc.

    Inventors: Janet Coope-Epstein, Leonard Jannusch
  • Publication number: 20050208108
Abstract: A thermoplastic film that is configured to disperse in contact with a body fluid of a live human or other animal. The film includes a thermoplastic film former and a fatty alcohol. The film is produced by extruding or otherwise coating a coatable composition. For some applications, the film is edible, and disperses upon contacting the film to the eater's tongue. The edible film can include a breath freshening agent, a medicament or other substance. The film can also be used topically or in a mucous membrane to deliver a medicament.

  • Patent number: 6290803
Abstract: Adhesive formulations are blends of aqueous polymer dispersions and a hydrophobic plasticizer. The blended dispersed polymers include at least one hard sulfonated polyester urethane, at least one soft non-sulfonated polyester urethane, and at least one polar non-polyurethane water-based polymer or copolymer. A high molecular weight elastomeric non-sulfonated polyurethane polymer and a crosslinker are optional further components in the blend. The formulations are useful as non-heat activating, one-component adhesives which generate excellent green strength, water and heat resistant bonds.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 15, 1996
Date of Patent: September 18, 2001
Assignee: H. B. Fuller Licensing & Financing Inc.
