Abstract: A method for the manufacture of carotenoid powders is disclosed. In the disclosed method, an aqueous suspension of the carotenoid is heated to melt the carotenoid, the suspension is then homogenized under pressure to form an emulsion, and the resulting emulsion is dried to obtain the carotenoid powder.

Abstract: Compounds represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein A is ##STR2## R is hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted lower alkenyl or alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the alkyl chain, phenyl or substituted phenyl, R.sub.1 is phenyl, substituted phenyl or lower alkyl substituted with phenyl, hydrates thereof, andPharmaceutically acceptable basic salts of said compounds or hydrates, useful as antibacterial therapeutic agents in the treatment of infectious diseases caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, particularly Gram-negative bacteria and particularly advantageous because of their stability in aqueous solution are disclosed.

Abstract: The preparation of relatively stable injectable solutions from dry powder formulations containing from 1.0 to 2.0 moles of anhydrous sodium carbonate per mole of amoxicillin free acid is disclosed. The solutions are suitable for administration by intravenous and intramuscular injection and intravenous drip.
