Abstract: A convertible trailer system for use in hauling stacked logs. The convertible trailer includes a pair of movable retaining panels mounted on each side of the trailer. Each of the retaining panels is movable between a transporting position and a loading position. When the retaining panels are in the transporting position, the retaining panels prevent stacked logs from falling off the side of the trailer. The convertible trailer includes a drive assembly operably connected to each of the retaining panels for raising and lowering the retaining panels between the transporting position and the locked position. A locking assembly is associated with each of the retaining panels to lock the retaining panel in the transporting position when the trailer is being used to transport a load of stacked logs.
