    Abstract: A furniture article top includes a grommet assembly providing a restricted wiring access spaced inwardly from the furniture top edge. The grommet assembly includes a stationary segment and a slidably removable segment having a front edge normally positively retained in a use position flush with the adjacent furniture top edge whereby, axial displacement of the slidable segment substantially increases the area of the wiring access.
