  • Patent number: 4599926
Abstract: A die-cutting roll is constructed to cut holes in traveling web materials, and for clearing and discharging the fragments, in a highly effective manner. A multiplicity of air vent ports communicate with the channel through which the scrap moves to an internal axial passage of the roll, and supplement the effect of vacuum applied to one end thereof. Desirably, a disuniting effect is produced upon compacted formations strands of the removed material, by creating turbulence within the passage and/or by mechanical impact thereupon.
