  • Patent number: 5305472
Abstract: A toilet ventilation unit including a vacuum motor mounted in the wall voids surrounding the toilet that is connected to the back of the tank and utilizes the water passageway of a conventional toilet to draw odors and aromas from the toilet. A vacuum shut off valve is mounted adjacent the back of the tank and is actuated concomitantly with the rising and lowering of the water level to cut off the air flow from the toilet. An additional valve is also mounted adjacent the tank to act in opposition to the shut-off valve and provide relief from the vacuum created from the drop of the water level during flushing. A release valve is adjacent the vacuum motor to draw air from an air source alternative to the toilet, when the shut-off valve is activated.

  • Patent number: 4476956
Abstract: A slide for frictionally engaging a flexible line to control a person's descent along the line. An outer shell has a helical opening in one side with a longitudinal offset at its lower end for receiving the line. An inner friction member, which is adjustable rotationally and longitudinally inside the outer shell, has a transverse slot in its inner end and a helical screw thread behind for frictionally receiving the line. Indicia on the friction member are visible at an opening in the outer shell to show the body weight for which the slide has been adjusted. The slide has a fail-safe lock acting between the outer shell and the friction member.

  • Patent number: 3950249
Abstract: A self-contained toilet and sanitary waste treatment plant that has a delivery system, a biological treatment system and a water recovery system. The delivery system includes a vacuum-type flush toilet adapted to receive flush water from the water recovery system and delivery means adapted to discharge the sanitary waste and flush water into the biological treatment system. The latter includes anaerobic digestion means, aerobic digestion means and sedimentation means for reducing the organic matter by biological treatment. The effluent from the biological treatment system is discharged to the water recovery system wherein primary and secondary filtration means are employed for reclaiming water for flush or other purposes.
