Patent number: 9247053Abstract: A method and system for providing a telephone caller information assistance such as driving directions from a starting location to a destination location. To obtain information assistance, the caller places a telephone call to access the system. If the geographical location of the caller can be determined by an automatic location identification system it is displayed on an operator console where the caller's request is transferred to be handled by a live operator. The operator receives the caller's destination request and queries the system for the street route driving instructions to the requested destination. After obtaining the street route driving instructions, the call can be transferred to an audio box having an interactive user interface capable of replaying the desired information to the caller. In an illustrative embodiment, the interactive user interface is capable providing functions to stop, start, pause, and replay the information to the caller.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2011Date of Patent: January 26, 2016Assignee: Open InventionNetwork, LLCInventors: Les Bruce, Michael Jay Snyder, Michael F. Patent number: 9008293Abstract: Network-based methods and systems transfer caller ID information from a telephony network to an IPTV network. Embodiments integrate service provisioning, subscriber account and policy information between telephony services and IP-based television services. Voice call signaling may be intercepted to retrieve caller ID, caller name information, and other call management information, at the call server in the network to deliver an appropriate notification message to the IP-based TV network at its notification server, which in turn sends a message notification to the called party's TV screen. Call log information may also be retrieved and displayed. SIP call forking and IP multimedia subsystem approaches are described.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 2005Date of Patent: April 14, 2015Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Chaoxin Qiu, Robert Stockwell, Jeffrey Paul Johnson, Les Bruce
