  • Patent number: 6276301
Abstract: A fish habitat package built up of old tire casings baled together to form a series of chambers into which fish can enter to provide habitat for those fish.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 8, 1999
Date of Patent: August 21, 2001
    Inventor: Les H. Pederson
  • Patent number: 5783035
Abstract: A tire debeading machine having a unique pair of hooks on a single shaft, clamp devices to close the hooks both to hold the bead in place within the hook and to press the bead into the hook to hold one end if the circular bead breaks. A divided die for the removal of matter from the bead provides an expedient way of cleaning the die if it becomes jammed. Further features include a cage to contain the tire both during the debeading process and as the process is finishing to control elastic reaction to the sudden removal of pressure, and a lift adapted to position tire casings of various sizes for contact by the hooks.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 21, 1997
Date of Patent: July 21, 1998
    Inventor: Les H. Pederson
  • Patent number: 5590594
Abstract: A portable tire baling machine mounted on a trailer for transportation. The baler has unique fingers for holding partially baled tires for additional loading to make possible larger bales from a relatively smaller machine. Special provisions are made for holding the bales together and for emptying the bales from the machine. The method of loading the bales provides for added safety and a better, tighter bale. Safety features for the closure of the baling compartment are also provided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 31, 1995
Date of Patent: January 7, 1997

  • Patent number: 5531146
Abstract: A tire cutting machine including a fixed cutting blade and a movable cutting blade, the machine being adapted to cut by shearing action. The movable blade is guided by adjustable guides at each end of the blade to provide very close proximity of the blades and to maintain proper clearance between the blades. The blades, in the open position, are spaced apart at both ends to provide an open throat allowing placement of the tire to be cut in a position relatively close to the pivot point between the blades for better leverage in the cutting process, so that varied sizes of tires for all types of conveyances may be easily cut. Loading and disposal devices are also used with the machine for easier handling. A special tire or wheel holding device is also provided to hold the tire in place as it is being cut.
