  • Publication number: 20240127906
Abstract: This disclosure describes methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and systems that can use a computationally efficient model to determine a corrected methylation-level value for a specific sample nucleotide sequence. For instance, the disclosed systems determine a false positive rate and a false negative rate at which a given methylation sequencing assay converts cytosine bases. Based on the determined false positive rate and false negative rate, the disclosed systems determine a corrected methylation-level value that corrects for a bias of the given methylation sequencing assay.

  • Patent number: 11953264
Abstract: A method of manufacturing ceramic tape includes a step of directing a tape of partially-sintered ceramic into a furnace. The tape is partially-sintered such that grains of the ceramic are fused to one another yet the tape still includes at least 10% porosity by volume, where the porosity refers to volume of the tape unoccupied by the ceramic. The method further includes steps of conveying the tape through the furnace and further sintering the tape as the tape is conveyed through the furnace. The porosity of the tape decreases during the further sintering step.

  • Publication number: 20240035113
Abstract: Microbial-assisted heap leaching of fragments or agglomerates of fragments of copper-containing sulfidic ores, such as chalcopyrite ores, and copper-containing sulfidic waste materials is disclosed. A heap leaching method includes controlling the sulfate concentration in a leach liquor. When heap leaching includes using agglomerates, a method of forming agglomerates includes adding the feed materials at, or close to, the inlet end, typically no more than 40%, typically no more than 30%, more typically no more than 20%, of the length from the inlet end of the agglomeration unit.

Abstract: A method of recovering a metal, such as copper or nickel or zinc or cobalt, from a metal sulfide-containing material in a mined material that is “non-economic” to recover metals from using conventional recovery options before the invention was made is disclosed. The method includes mixing (i) the metal sulfide-containing material and (ii) pyrite and forming agglomerates, leaching agglomerates with a leach liquor and microbes and removing a metal from the metal sulfide-containing material and forming a pregnant leach liquor containing metal, and recovering the metal from the pregnant leach liquor. A heap leaching operation for a metal sulfide-containing material is also disclosed. A flotation circuit for an ore processing plant for a metal sulfide-containing material is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20230296570
Abstract: A method of processing of a biological sample containing multiple metabolites is described The method comprising the steps of pre-treating the biological sample with a metabolite extraction solvent to provide a pre-treated sample, separating a first aliquot of the pre-treated sample by reverse phase liquid chromatography (RPLC) to provide a first eluent containing resolved hydrophobic metabolites, and separating a second aliquot of the pre-treated sample by hydrophilic interaction liquid interaction chromatography (HILIC) to provide a second eluent containing resolved hydrophilic metabolites. The first and second eluents are assayed using targeted tandem mass spectroscopy operated in multiple reaction monitoring mode. Each liquid chromatography step(LC) is directly hyphenated with the tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) into a single LC-MS/MS analysis. • Patent number: 10967539
Abstract: A manufacturing line includes a tape of green material that is directed through a furnace so that the furnace burns off organic binder material and then partially sinters the tape without the use of a setter board. Sintered articles resulting from the manufacturing line may be thin with relatively large surface areas; and, while substantially unpolished, have few sintering-induced surface defects. Tension may be applied to the partially sintered tape as it passes through a second furnace on the manufacturing line to shape resulting sintered articles.
