  • Patent number: 5141092
Abstract: A mechanical stop mechanism (15 or 15') adapted to be accommodated in a container (29) having at least one fixed stop (18, 19) defining a limit position for the stop mechanism (15 or 15'). The stop mechanism (15 or 15') includes a helical spring member (S) mounted on a hub (20), with the helical spring member (S) having an active spring length (l) dimensioned so as to absorb impacting forces of the stop mechanism (15 or 15') against the at least one fixed stop (18, 19) by compression of the material of the helical spring member (S).

  • Patent number: 5027892
Abstract: An arrangement for mounting a panel on a spacecraft employs a spring sheet which serves to mount one end of the panel to the spacecraft for pivoting the panel with respect to spacecraft and which is capable of storing spring energy for actuating the panel to pivot it from one of a stowed position and a deployed position to the other. In the preferred embodiment, the panel is a radiator for rejecting waste heat into outer space from a dynamic isotope power system of the spacecraft.

  • Patent number: 4583005
Abstract: A solid state switch assembly including a circular array of three electrode semiconductors (26) with a control semiconductor (46) disposed centrally of the array. First and second buses (12 and 30) are in electrical contact with the semiconductors (26). A spider-like conductor (60) has legs (62) extending to respective control electrodes of the semiconductors (26) in the circular array and a central base (64) in circuit with the control semiconductor (46).
