The ejector may further include a stem configured to engage an ejector spring, and an ejector face that may be reniform-shaped and attached to the stem and configured to engage and eject the ammunition cartridge.

The rail may slide on and off the top of the firearm and may include integrated front and rear flip down sights. Both sights are pinned to the rail and can fold down to the rail such that they are flush with or seat below the top portion of the rail. This permits accessories to be mounted to the rail without the sights interfering with the mounting of the accessories or without the sights interfering with the operation of the accessories. The firearm further includes an ambidextrous charging handle mounted through the integrated rail and sight system.

Abstract: A handguard or other cover for a firearm includes a shell or body with a hollow interior cavity and a retaining structure configured to engage the forearm and retain the shell in place on the forearm, where the retaining structure is releasable to permit removal of the shell from the forearm. The shell may have a concave inner surface and a convex outer surface extending between the first and second edges. The concave inner surface may include at least one tab extending outwardly from the inner surface which is configured to be connected to a slot or opening formed in the forearm for the firearm.
