Patents by Inventor Lester Earl Coleman

Lester Earl Coleman has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 4033921
Abstract: N-3-Oxohydrocarbon-substituted acrylamides, especially diacetone acrylamide, react with aldehydes in alkaline media (usually aqueous) to form water-soluble compositions which contain hydroxyalkylated and/or alkoxyalkylated derivatives of said substituted acrylamides. Addition polymers of these water-soluble compositions may be prepared, especially as aqueous latices or as solutions in organic solvents. These addition polymers are useful in adhesives and coatings. In particular, the polymers may be combined with pigments and/or with alkaline reagents or aminoplast compositions to form paints and textile adhesives.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 25, 1975
Date of Patent: July 5, 1977
    Assignee: The Lubrizol Corporation
    Inventor: Lester Earl Coleman
  • Patent number: 3994815
Abstract: Additive concentrates comprising hydrogenated alkenyl-arene-conjugated diene interpolymers and a non-ester type synthetic lubricating oil diluent are disclosed. Lubricating compositions prepared from these concentrates are also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 6, 1975
Date of Patent: November 30, 1976
    Assignee: The Lubrizol Corporation
    Inventor: Lester Earl Coleman

  • Patent number: 3941836
Abstract: Fuel compositions for internal combustion engines containing Diels-Adler adducts of N-3-oxohydrocarbon acrylamides or N-3-hydroxyhydrocarbon acrylamides with conjugated diene compounds such as 1,3-butadiene, cyclopentadiene. The adducts also have utility as solubilizing agents, plasticizers, and ultraviolet absorbing additives for polymeric compositions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 20, 1973
Date of Patent: March 2, 1976
    Assignee: The Lubrizol Corporation
    Inventor: Lester Earl Coleman
  • Patent number: 3933761
Abstract: A carboxy-containing interpolymer in which some of the carboxy radicals are esterified and the remaining carboxy radicals are neutralized by reaction with a polyamino compound having one primary or secondary amino group is useful as an additive in lubricating compositions and fuels. The interpolymer is especially effective to impart desirable viscosity characteristics and anti-sludge properties to a lubricating oil.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 20, 1976
    Assignee: The Lubrizol Corporation
