  • Publication number: 20200037779
Abstract: An area support surface seating system designed to optimize conditions that will avoid interrupting the healing procedure of pressure injuries in the area of the buttocks while an individual is placed in the seated position through the control of individual cells within the support surface to create a lower than capillary pressure site under an open wound and modulate external pressure over time on different regions of the buttocks to minimize secondary causes of pressure injuries. The area support surface also provides through its operation the means to restrain the progress of spinal deformities.

  • Patent number: 10463526
Abstract: A support surface having a plurality of small, independent, cylinder shape, vertically mounted air cells integrated on a hospital bed, nursing home or home care beds or as a mattress replacement. The pneumatic support surface is electronically controlled and operated by a caregiver through the only external part of the system: a smartphone or a tablet. The support surface is capable to perform separately or in succession, within two hours, several cycles of a plurality of known procedures for the prevention of pressure sores plus a unique procedure focused on the most-risky parts of the body combined with a program that provides optimum conditions for best and faster healing of existing pressure injuries.

  • Patent number: 6560803
Abstract: A pneumatic seat adjustable for a bedside chair, wheelchair or other type of seats, having a series of air cells controlled and operated through a micro-chip. The cells are inflated to a level of inflation adjusted to the weight of the body. In an order pre-set in the micro-chip, one cell at a time sequentially deflates for a pre-determined length of time, thus allowing unobstructed blood flow to the part of the body above the deflated cell. After the determined period of time, the cell is re-inflated to the previous level of inflation and another cell deflates. The pattern of inflation and deflation may be altered to create diverse programs and numerous applications.
