  • Patent number: 4731260
Abstract: A filter material comprising hydrophobic filter media treated with a wetting agent which consists essentially of a material selected from the group consisting of polysobate 20, polysorbate 40, polysorbate 60 and polysorbate 80. The wetting agent is applied by dissolving it in a solvent and spraying the resulting solution onto the filter media.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 18, 1984
Date of Patent: March 15, 1988
    Assignee: American Hospital Supply Corporation
Inventors: David P. Balding, Li-Chien Hsu, Sun De Tong, Steven A. Craw
  • Patent number: 4714770
Abstract: The preparation of dye-silane compositions are disclosed. A dye-silane compound is formed in which the dye is covalently bonded to a cyano silane compound. These dye-silane polymer compositions have particular utility as dye adduct reactants in the preparation of dye containing polysiloxanes.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 5, 1987
Date of Patent: December 22, 1987
    Assignee: Baxter Travenol Laboratories, Inc.
    Inventors: Li-Chien Hsu, Hal Heitzmann
  • Patent number: 4712865
Abstract: A preparation of dye-containing gas permeable silicon polymer and resin compositions are disclosed. Homopolymers and/or co-polymers of polysiloxane are formed in which a photoactive center substituent containing a dye is covalently bonded to the matrix structure thereby rendering the dye non-diffusible. These dye-silicone polymer compositions have particular utility in gas sensing fiber optics devices.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: December 15, 1987
    Assignee: Baxter Travenol Laboratories
    Inventors: Li-chien Hsu, Hal Heitzmann
  • Patent number: 4640819
Abstract: Stress cracking of polycarbonate parts during prolonged storage while assembled with plasticized polyvinyl tubing is greatly reduced by using tubing in which tri-2-ethylhexyl trimellitate is the predominant or sole primary plasticizer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 19, 1985
Date of Patent: February 3, 1987
    Assignee: American Hospital Supply Corporation
