  • Patent number: 8722537
Abstract: MEMS devices and methods for utilizing sacrificial layers are provided. An embodiment comprises forming a first sacrificial layer and a second sacrificial layer over a substrate, wherein the second sacrificial layer acts as an adhesion layer. Once formed, the first sacrificial layer and the second sacrificial layer are patterned such that the second sacrificial layer is undercut to form a step between the first sacrificial layer and the second sacrificial layer. A top capacitor electrode is formed over the second sacrificial layer, and the first sacrificial layer and the second sacrificial layer are removed in order to free the top capacitor electrode.

  • Publication number: 20070050782
Abstract: A loading device for CD players is provided, including a tray for receiving a disc. The tray is inside a base, and the tray is driven by a driver inside the base to move along a straight line within the range of the base. One end of the tray has an open support, so that the disc is able to move in the direction parallel with the tray and placed into the support. Each of the facing two side walls of the support is equipped with an elastic retaining element, with the minimum distance between the elastic retaining elements smaller than the diameter of said disc. The locations of the elastic retaining elements are closer to the entrance end of the support than the center of the disc when the disc is entirely placed in the support. That is, the elastic retaining elements are placed within the half outer circle of the disc as to push the disc to move along the tray when the tray moves into the base.

  • Publication number: 20070050791
Abstract: A structure of a slot-in CD player is provided, including a loading device in a base, a driver, a read-write device and a suppressor. The driver is for driving the loading device to move back and forth within the range of the base. The loading device includes a tray having an opening, and a clipper is installed at the opening. A stopper is installed at the sides of the base. When the disc is inserted from the slot of the base, the clipper at the opening of the tray holds the disc and the driver moves the tray to carry the disc to the read-write device. The stopper stops the disc from further moving while the tray continues to separate from the disc. The suppressor suppresses and holds the disc for rotation. The rotated disc can be read or written by the read-write device.

  • Patent number: 6654185
Abstract: An electromagnetic actuator with an improved utilization rate of magnetic circuit for efficiently moving an objective lens on micro levels along a focusing direction and a tracking direction is disclosed. The electromagnetic actuator includes two homopolar parts spaced with a clearance small enough for generating magnetic force lines including a first and a second smooth portions which are preferably linear. The electromagnetic actuator further includes a first and a second actuating coil sets connected to the holder of the objective lens for moving the objective lens along the focusing and the tracking directions, respectively. The first and the second actuating coil sets are arranged around the homopolar parts with coil walls thereof substantially perpendicular to the first and the second smooth portions, respectively, so that they themselves move in the focusing and/or tracking directions in response to the currents and the magnetic force lines applied thereto to actuate the lens holder.

  • Patent number: 6549507
Abstract: An apparatus with ring shape sleeve is provided. The apparatus is attached to a shaft and moves around the shaft, the varieties of the apparatus comprise objective lens holder of pick-up head. The characteristic of the invention is that apparatus and shaft are attached by ring shape sleeves where not only thickness of any ring shape sleeve is thin enough such that draft angle effect is negligible but also ring shape sleeve can be inlayed in the apparatus or be molded integrally with the apparatus. Therefore, not only shaft and apparatus are rigorously attached but also the space between shaft and apparatus is significant decreased. Thus, dynamic behavior of the apparatus is more controllable and yield of the apparatus is improved.

  • Patent number: 6492889
Abstract: An electromagnetic actuator for efficiently moving an objective lens along a focusing direction and a tracking direction. The electromagnetic actuator includes a flux generator, a first set of coils, a second set of coils and a magnetic piece. A first magnetic part and a second magnetic part of the flux generator are placed within a gap for generating smooth magnetic lines of force. The first set of coils moves the objective lens along the focusing direction. The second set of coils provide micro rotation around a shaft to the objective lens, and magnetic pieces are placed in the magnetic circuit adjacent to the gap. The objective lens holder is held at the neutral position relating focusing and tracking directions while the magnetic attraction forces are acting on the magnetic pieces.

  • Patent number: 6166867
Abstract: An objective lens holder applicable in a pickup head of an optical media device is disclosed. The lens holder overcomes the problems of unstable movement and complicated assembly of the conventional lens holders. The invented lens holder uses four stripe-like resilient supporting arms, which are made from a unitary sheetmetal by a press-cutting and a bending process, to support the lens carrier and the lens. One ends of the supporting arms are settled with a fixing member when the fixing member is resin-molded, and the other ends are linked with the lens carrier. Each supporting arm includes two strips which ensure the supporting arm moving stably in the tracking direction and the focusing direction respectively. The assembly is simplified by the unitary sheetmeetal workings and the resin-molding process.

  • Patent number: 5680845
Abstract: An alignment device of dual-spray injectors for internal combustion engine includes at least one link with two or more retaining openings engegable with the injector nozzles such that the injector will be prevented from axial rotation. The upper portion of the injector is housed in a cup with a first O-ring located inside and set against an injector seat collar above the cylinder head. The retaining opening on the link further has an elastic padding disposed thereon. The injector is thus prevented from axial movement. Therefore fuel can be precisely ejected into the gas intake duct for complete combustion and resulting in more output power and reduced exhaust pollution.
