  • Patent number: 11308890
Abstract: Embodiments relate to a signal detector circuit suitable for a display device that detects and decodes a power line communication signal. The signal detector circuit includes an averaging circuit, a comparator, a sampling circuit, a decoder circuit, and a regulator circuit. The averaging circuit receives the power line communication signal and averages the power line communication signal over time to generate an average signal. The comparator compares the average signal to the power line communication signal and generates a comparison signal. The sampling circuit samples the comparison signal according to a sample timing of a clock signal and generates a sampled signal. The decoder circuit decodes the sampled signal and generates a decoded output signal. The regulator circuit receives the power line communication signal and generates supply voltage to power the comparator, the sampling circuit, and the decoder circuit.

  • Patent number: 11289011
Abstract: Embodiments relate to a display device that includes a control circuit, an array of light emitting diode (LED) zones, and an array of driver circuits that are distributed in the display area. An integrated LED and driver circuit includes one or more LEDs of a LED zone and one or more driver circuits integrated on a substrate in a single package with the LED and driver circuit vertically stacked over a substrate. An addressing scheme configures addresses of the driver circuits using address lines that connect between adjacent driver circuits. Control data is provided to the driver circuits via a power line communication signal that provides both a supply voltage and digital data modulated onto the supply voltage.

  • Publication number: 20220020316
Abstract: A display device comprises an array of driver circuits and LED zones distributed in a display area. A set of shared lines couple includes column lines coupling driver circuits in respective columns and row lines coupling driver circuits in respective rows. During an addressing mode, a control circuit assigns addresses to the driver circuits using a combination of the row lines and the column lines. During an operational mode, the control circuit sends driver control commands to the driver circuits utilizing the assigned addresses to control brightness of the LED zones. The control circuit may also send readback commands to the driver circuits to obtain readback data relating to sensed conditions. The control circuit may adjust the driver control commands based on the sensed conditions.

  • Patent number: 11217153
Abstract: Embodiments relate to a display device that includes a control circuit, an array of light emitting diode (LED) zones, and an array of driver circuits that are distributed in the display area. The driver circuits are arranged in groups that are coupled to each other and to the control circuit in a serial communication chain via serial communication lines. The group of driver circuits are also coupled in parallel to a shared multi-wire command line that provides a high-speed interface for providing the driver control signals from the control circuit. The control circuit may furthermore issue readback commands to the driver circuits via the shared multi-wire command line or the serial communication chain. In response to the commands, the driver circuits provide readback data via a readback line through the serial communication chain or via parallel connections from the driver circuits.

  • Patent number: 11189220
Abstract: A display device includes a control circuit, an array of LED zones, and an array of driver circuits that are distributed in the display area. The driver circuits are arranged in groups that are connected in a serial chain by a set of communication lines. The group of driver circuits are configurable between a serial communication mode and a parallel communication mode. In the serial communication mode, each driver circuit receives an incoming signal on an input pin, processes the signal through serial communication logic to generate an outgoing signal, and outputs the outgoing signal to an output pin such that the driver circuits serially process the incoming signal. In the parallel communication mode, each driver circuit transfers the incoming signal from the input pin to the output pin bypassing the serial communication logic such that all driver circuits in the group can process the incoming signal in parallel.

  • Publication number: 20100231290
Abstract: A measurement device independent of an integrated circuit including a transistor is disclosed. A current supply provides a first current and a second current. A switching unit transmits the first or the second current to the transistor. A current detection unit generates a first voltage and a second voltage according to a first base current of the transistor and the first current and generates a third voltage and a fourth voltage according to a second base current of the transistor and the second current. A voltage processing unit processes the first and the second voltages to generate a first differential value and processes the third and the fourth voltages to generate a second difference value. A calculation unit divides the second differential value by the first differential value to obtain a current ratio and adjusts at least one of the first and the second currents according to the current ratio.
