  • Patent number: 6911279
Abstract: A battery holder (1) for receiving a coin cell (6) includes an insulative housing (2) and a first and a second contacts (4, 5) received in the insulative housing. The coin cell includes a positive pole (61) and a negative pole (62) with a smaller diameter than the positive pole thereby forming an annular receiving room (63) around the positive pole. The insulative housing includes a base plate (21), a bulge (22) and a number of chimbs (24) extending upwardly from the base plate and a protrusion (34) at a junction between the base plate and the bulge. The protrusion is mating with the receiving room around the positive pole for preventing the coin cell from reverse insertion.

  • Patent number: 6086417
Abstract: An electrical connector comprises an elongate insulative housing and three board locks. Each board lock comprises a main body, a cutout defined in the main body, engaging teeth formed on opposite inner surfaces of the cutout, and a pair of resilient legs extending downward from the main body. Slots are defined in the housing for receiving the corresponding board locks therein. Each slot is formed having tapered inner walls and an engaging projection extending downward from the housing into a center of the slot. When the board lock is inserted into the corresponding slot, the tapered inner walls of the slot will guide the cutout of the board lock toward the engaging projection thereby reducing the force required to insert the board lock into the slot. The engaging projection is shaped to fittingly engage with the engaging teeth formed on the board lock, thus, the board lock is firmly secured thereto.

  • Patent number: 6086403
Abstract: A board-to-board connector comprises a female portion, a plurality of conductive contacts, a male portion, and interlocking means provided on the female portion and the male portion. Plate connectors, end walls, and positioning protrusions of the male portion are snugly received in parallel slots, lateral slots, and positioning recesses of the female portion, respectively. Plate connectors of the male portion abut the contacts received in the female portion and positioning protrusions of the male portion interlock with positioning recesses of the female portion thereby establishing and ensuring a consistent electrical connection within the connector.

  • Patent number: 6000965
Abstract: A retaining device (200) for fixing a connector (10) on a printed circuit board includes a main body (210) including a first edge (212) and a second edge (214) substantially perpendicular to the first edge (212). A first engaging portion (220) is projected from the first edge (212) of the main body (210) and firmly fixed in the connector (10) via barbs (2202). A guiding and positioning portion (230) is projected from the main body (210) for guiding and positioning the main body (210) in the connector (10). A second engaging portion (240) is extended from the second edge (214) of the main body (10) and it is engaged to the printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 5989075
Abstract: A contact for an electric connector is configured as an elongated post. The contact consists of a body portion, a terminal portion for being soldered to a substrate, a PCB for example, a contact portion for engaging with a corresponding contact in a mating connector, a first fitting portion protruding from two lateral sides of the body portion, and a second fitting portion also protruding from the two lateral sides of the body portion. The second fitting portion is located nearer to the terminal portion than the first fitting portion and has a width larger than that of the first fitting portion. When the contact is inserted into a corresponding contact passage defined by a dielectric housing of the connector, the first and second fitting portions will sequentially have an interference fit with the housing.

  • Patent number: 5908329
Abstract: An electrical connector having positioning posts is disclosed. The electrical connector comprises a first and a second positioning posts formed on both longitudinal ends of a front surface of an insulating housing for inserting into a pair of holes of a printed circuit board. Each of the first and second positioning posts defines a respective longitudinal direction, and includes a pair of positioning members on both longitudinal ends, a stop bar between the pair of positioning members, and an open slot between each of the positioning members and the stop bar. The width of the positioning post defined by both sides of the stop bar is shorter than the length of the positioning post defined between respective longitudinal outer surfaces of the positioning members.
