  • Patent number: 11809593
Abstract: Techniques for finding and associating personal identifying information with an individual. In one embodiment, a method includes searching a database of personal identifying information held by an organization for instances of a particular item of personal identifying information of a data subject. The database may link personal identifying information to locations at which that personal identifying information is held by the organization. After a storage location with a found instance of the particular item of personal identifying information of the data subject is determined, additional personal identifying information of potential relevance to the data subject may be found at the storage location and used for further searching of the database for more personal identifying information of potential relevance to the data subject at other locations. Personal identifying information may be associated with the data subject and included in a data subject profile.

  • Publication number: 20230205921
Abstract: Techniques for comparing and grouping data locations based on personally identifying information or other subdata of interest. In one embodiment, a method includes ingesting data from multiple locations digitally stored in an electronic system and scanning the ingested data to discover sensitive information present in the ingested data. The method also includes classifying each location of a first subset of the multiple locations such that the multiple locations include classified locations and unclassified locations and grouping the multiple locations into clusters based on similarity of the discovered sensitive information present at the multiple locations. Each location of a second subset of the multiple locations is classified based on the presence of that location in a cluster with a classified location of the first subset of the multiple locations. Additional systems and methods are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20230153443
Abstract: Techniques for evaluating and improving data security are provided. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving results from a sensitive data scan of information technology (IT) infrastructure of an organization, in which the result includes indications of a volume of sensitive data found during the scan, types of the sensitive data found during the scan, and locations at which the sensitive data was found during the scan. The method also includes determining a cybersecurity risk score for the IT infrastructure. This can include calculating the cybersecurity risk score based on the volume of sensitive data found during the scan, value of the sensitive data found during the scan, and vulnerability of the locations at which the sensitive data was found during the scan. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9753714
Abstract: A method includes comparing a type associated with a software package including a plurality of files with a plurality of plugin types that are associated with a plurality of plugin modules, selecting one of the plurality of plugin types that supports the software package, and performing an action on the software package using the one of the plurality of plugin modules associated with the selected one of the plurality of plugin types.

  • Patent number: 9158512
Abstract: An exchange provides communication among programs that run on a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) and that are written in different programming languages that are hosted on the JVM. The exchange intercepts an external call from a first program that runs on the JVM and is written in a first programming language. The exchange identifies a second program that runs on the JVM and is written in a second programming language, to which the external call from the first program may be directed. The exchange directs the external call to the second program and receives a response to the external call from the second program. The response to the external call that is received from the second program is then forwarded back to the first program. Related systems, processes and computer program products are described.

  • Patent number: 9075601
Abstract: To communicate with a software application, internal data of the software application is exposed or otherwise made accessible responsive to injection of computer readable program code comprising a scripting engine into a runtime environment associated with the software application. Computer readable program code comprising a script in accordance with the internal data is loaded. The script is interpretable by the scripting engine for execution with existing code of the software application to alter operation thereof without modification of the existing code. Related methods, systems, and computer program products are also discussed.
