  • Patent number: 6798652
Abstract: A data storage device mounting apparatus includes a drive bracket (10) and a cover (20). The device bracket includes a first side plate (14) and a second side plate (16). The first side plate defines two engaging slots (140), and includes two positioning pins (144) engaging in positioning holes (32) of one side of a data storage device (30). The second side plate includes three locating flanges (160), and defines two locating holes (164). The cover includes a first edge portion (24) and a second edge portion (26). The first edge portion includes two engaging latches (240) engaging in the engaging slots respectively. The second edge portion includes three tabs defining three locating slots (262) engagingly receiving the locating flanges, and two locating posts (264) extending through the locating holes and engaging in positioning holes (32) of an opposite side of the data storage device.

  • Publication number: 20040174687
Abstract: A retaining device (1) for expansion cards (56) each having a slot cover (60) includes a plate (18) having an expansion card seat (24), a pair of locking members (76), a fastener (90) pivotably attached to the expansion card seat. Two locking members respectively are fixed on the expansion card seat. Each locking member includes a resilient arm (80) having a locking body (81). The fastener includes a pressing plate (104) for pressing the slot covers. Two locking arms (112) extend from the pressing plate engaging with corresponding locking bodies. The fastener further includes a handle (118) and two pushing arms (120). When the handle is pressed downwardly, the pushing arms push the resilient arms to cause the locking bodies to disengage from the locking arms, and the pressing plate can thereupon be released from the slot covers of the expansion cards by operation of the handle.

  • Patent number: 6781843
Abstract: A computer enclosure includes a cage (10), an upper plate (100), two expansion bodies (140), and two operating devices (200). The cage has a chassis (12), a frame (16) received in the chassis, and an anti-EMI plate (18) attached onto the frame. Two recessed portions (102) are formed in the upper plate for accommodating the expansion bodies. The operating devices are attached to opposite sides of the chassis. Each operating device has a releasing device (202), a driving device (204), and a controlling device (206). When a button (258) of each controlling device is pressed inwardly and then pushed forwardly, a driving plate (254) of the controlling device drives the driving device to release the corresponding expansion body from the upper plate. When the buttons of the controlling devices are pressed inwardly and then pushed rearwardly, the driving plates drive the releasing devices to release the frame from the chassis.

  • Publication number: 20040075979
Abstract: A computer enclosure includes a drive bracket (10), a cage (20), a holder (30) attached to a side panel (21) of the cage, and a slider (40) secured to a lower bottom plate (15) of the drive bracket. The holder defines an arcuate groove (32) and a guide way (35) therein. The slider comprises a first shaft (42) and a second shaft (43). The drive bracket is pivotably installed in the cage. The drive bracket rotates relative to the cage, with the first shaft sliding and being tightly held within the groove, and the second shaft sliding and tightly pressing on the guide way. The drive bracket can be rotated relative to the cage and located in any desired position during such rotation.

  • Patent number: 6721177
Abstract: A data storage device mounting apparatus includes a first drive bracket (10) fixedly mounted to a chassis (40) of a computer, and a second drive bracket (20) pivotably attached to the chassis. Two pins (54) are formed on each of opposite sides of a data storage assembly (50). The first bracket comprises first and second side plates (14, 16) each defining two slots (15) receiving the pins. The second side plate defines two openings (162) adjacent the slots. Two catches (164) and two positioning plates (168) extend outwardly from the second side plate at bottom and rear extremities of the openings respectively. The second bracket and one side comprises two legs (24). When the second bracket is pivoted down onto the first bracket, the legs cover the openings. Each leg is sandwiched between a corresponding pin and a corresponding positioning plate, and resiliently pressed inwardly by a corresponding catch.
