Abstract: A cutting tool assembly includes a first tool part and a second tool part. The first tool part has a forward end portion including a cutting edge and a rearward end portion having a conical section and an engagement section. The second tool part includes a conical recess and a clamping device rearwards the conical recess. The clamping device is provided in a transversal cavity of the second tool part and has a first clamp block, a second clamp block and a differential screw engaging the first and second clamp blocks. The first and second clamp blocks engage the engagement section of the first tool part to pull the first tool part into the conical recess when the first and second clamp blocks are moved towards each other by the differential screw protruding rearwards from the first and second clamp blocks.

Abstract: A reaming tool includes a tool holder body and at least one one-piece indexable reaming insert. The reaming insert includes more than one cutting edge. The tool holder body has an insert clamp for clamping the reaming insert relative to the tool holder body. The cutting edge extends beyond a periphery of the tool holder body when the reaming insert is clamped relative to an abutment surface of the tool holder body. The reaming insert has a head and an integral mounting portion, the tool holder body having an opening in which the integral mounting portion of the cutting insert is disposed. A reaming insert for a tool is also disclosed.

Abstract: A cutting head for a cutting tool includes a cutting portion and a shank portion. The cutting portion has a plurality of integrally formed cutting edges and the shank portion has a first end adjacent the cutting portion and a second end. The first portion of the shank portion is closer to the first end of the shank portion than the second and third portions of the shank portion and the third portion of the shank portion is disposed closer to the second end of the shank portion than the first and second portions. The first portion of the shank portion has an exterior surface including at least one axially extending recess extending from an end of the first portion closest to the second portion toward the first end of the shank portion. The cutting head is formed of a pressed and sintered cemented carbide material.

Abstract: A tool with a replaceable tip includes a tool body including a tip holding portion, a tool tip having a shank portion adapted to be disposed proximate the tip holding portion comprising a wall defining an axial opening, the wall having at least one radial opening, at least one locking element being disposed in the radial opening, and, as a clamping ring is turned about the longitudinal axis of the tool body, a locking element contacting surface of the clamping ring contacts the locking element and urges it through the radial opening and into the recess in the tool tip. A method of retaining a tool tip is also disclosed.

Abstract: A guide arrangement for a cutting tool includes a pad having a guide surface and a hole extending from a first surface of the pad to a second surface of the pad. The guide arrangement further includes a clamping member having a small end and a large end, the large end contacting a clamping surface of the hole proximate the first surface of the pad and the small end extending through the hole and beyond the second surface of the pad. A resilient member is disposed on a surface of the pad opposite the guide surface.
