  • Publication number: 20180004398
Abstract: An electronic mail (email) system generates an email user interface display, that allows the user to enter message content. A context-sensitive calendar preview can be triggered and displayed on the email user interface display. The email system detects a user drag and drop input dragging at least a portion of the message content onto the calendar preview, and automatically generates a calendar event based upon the detected drag and drop input, and the particular portion of the message content dragged onto the context-sensitive calendar preview.

  • Publication number: 20180006690
Abstract: Technique for full-duplex transmission in many-antenna multi-user (MU) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems is presented in this disclosure. An estimate of a self-interference channel between a plurality of transmit antennas and a plurality of receive antennas is first obtained. A precoder for self-interference reduction is generated based on minimizing a self-interference power related to the self-interference channel that is present at the plurality of receive antennas. Transmission data are modified using the precoder by projecting the transmission data onto a defined number of singular vectors of the self-interference channel that correspond to the defined number of smallest singular values of the self-interference channel. Data are received in full-duplex mode via the plurality of receive antennas simultaneously with transmitting the modified transmission data.

  • Patent number: 9857474
Abstract: Described is a technology by which GPS-capable devices work with a cloud service to receive satellite visibility-related data. The satellite visibility-related data may be used to determine a location, and/or to abort a search for satellites. The cloud service may use crowd data from other GPS-capable devices. In one aspect, line-of-sight satellites are differentiated from other satellites, and used to determine which satellite signals are more trustworthy. Reflected signals also may be determined.

  • Publication number: 20170329494
Abstract: An electronic mail (email) system generates an email user interface display, with a timeslot actuator, for composing an email message. Actuation of the timeslot actuator is detected and the email system accesses available timeslots from a calendar system corresponding to the user. User selectable display elements, corresponding to each available timeslot, are displayed on the email user interface display, along with message content. When a user selectable display element corresponding to an available timeslot is selected, the emailmessage content is populated with a selectable timeslot element, corresponding to the available timeslot, that can be sent to recipients in the email message.

  • Patent number: 9817125
Abstract: The description relates to mobile device location. One example can identify global navigation satellite system (GNSS) satellites expected to be in line-of-sight of a mobile device. This example can detect differences between received GNSS data signals and expected GNSS data signals from the expected GNSS satellites. The example can also determine a direction from the mobile device of an obstruction that is causing at least some of the detected differences.

  • Publication number: 20170289363
Abstract: An environment is described in which a processing system provides application-level usage information to users. In one scenario, for example, the processing system may provide personal usage information to a user who is operating a user device. The personal usage information itemizes the amount of data (and/or other resources) that has been consumed by each application run by the user device. In another scenario, the processing system may provide expected usage information associated with at least one candidate application provided by a marketplace system. The expected usage information describes an expected consumption of data (and/or other resources) by the candidate application upon running the candidate application by the user device. The processing system can tailor the expected usage information that it sends to a particular user based on user profile data. The user profile data describes a manner in which users operate applications.

  • Patent number: 9503641
Abstract: The subject disclosure is directed towards energy saving mechanisms of image sensor circuitry (e.g., in a camera). Image quality data, such as provided by an application, is processed to make energy consumption of image sensor circuitry more proportional to output image quality by controlling the operation of one or more controllable power saving mechanisms of the image sensor circuitry. Power saving mechanisms may include a frequency controlled clock, the ability to turn off unneeded components, an inter-frame standby mode that puts the image sensor circuitry into a standby mode between capturing sequential frames, selectable parallel analog chains having different energy usage properties and column circuitry that allows turning off circuitry corresponding to unneeded columns of the sensor array.

  • Publication number: 20160286026
Abstract: Techniques for ability enhancement are described. Some embodiments provide an ability enhancement facilitator system (“AEFS”) configured to enhance a user's ability to operate or function in a transportation-related context as a pedestrian or a vehicle operator. In one embodiment, the AEFS is configured perform vehicular threat detection based on information received at a road-based device, such as a sensor or processor that is deployed at the side of a road. An example AEFS receives, at a road-based device, information about a first vehicle that is proximate to the road-based device. The AEFS analyzes the received information to determine threat information, such as that the vehicle may collide with the user. The AEFS then informs the user of the determined threat information, such as by transmitting a warning to a wearable device configured to present the warning to the user.

  • Patent number: 9349164
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for providing improved de-noising image content by using directional noise filters to accurately estimate a blur kernel from a noisy blurry image. In one embodiment, an image manipulation application applies multiple directional noise filters to an input image to generate multiple filtered images. Each of the directional noise filters has a different orientation with respect to the input image. The image manipulation application determines multiple two-dimensional blur kernels from the respective filtered images. The image manipulation application generates a two- two-dimensional blur kernel for the input image from the two-dimensional blur kernels for the filtered images. The image manipulation application generates a de-blurred version of the input image by executing a de-blurring algorithm based on the two-dimensional blur kernel for the input image.
