Abstract: A disposable absorbent product includes a backsheet, a topsheet overlaying the backsheet, and a core disposed between the backsheet and topsheet for retaining fluid secreted by a wearer of the absorbent product. The core has a length dimension, a width dimension, and a thickness dimension orthogonal to the length and width dimensions. The core includes first and second fluid storage structures, with the first fluid storage structure at least partially surrounding the second fluid storage structure in the thickness dimension. The second fluid storage structure extends along a longitudinal axis and has a head portion, as well as a pair of leg portions, with the leg portions being longitudinally opposed the head portion. Each of the leg portions extends along a minor axis that defines, with the longitudinal axis, an acute included angle.

Abstract: Disposable protective undergarments and methods for manufacturing the same, in which the undergarments include a front portion and a back portion each having a stretchable waist area, a stretchable leg area longitudinally spaced from the waist area, and a stretchable belly area positioned between the waist area and the leg area is provided. The belly area is separated from the waist area thereby defining a substantially non-stretchable portion therebetween, and the belly area is also separated from the leg area thereby also defining a substantially non-stretchable portion therebetween. The undergarment optionally includes front and back portions with waist areas each having an outer layer folded over an inner layer, between which layers stretchable web material is sandwiched between.

Abstract: Disposable protective undergarments and methods for manufacturing the same, wherein the undergarments include a front portion and a back portion longitudinally spaced from one another, each of the front and back portions having a waist area, a leg area longitudinally spaced from the waist area and a belly area positioned between the waist area and the leg area are provided, in which the belly area includes an ultrasonically bonded, stretchable film. A crotch insert bridges a gap between the front and back portions. Abstract: A disposable absorbent article having an absorbent core and a fluid redistribution layer disposed on top of the absorbent core, wherein the fluid redistribution layer has a channel which redistributes fluid mainly along the absorbent core. The absorbent core can be disposed between a top sheet and a back sheet of the absorbent article, and the fluid redistribution layer can be disposed between the absorbent core and the top sheet, with the channel having one or more openings on the side next to the top sheet.

Abstract: A disposable nursing pad comprising an absorbent assembly having an inner surface and an outer surface with an absorbent material therebetween. The inner and outer surfaces are connected about a perimeter of the absorbent assembly which may have a non-circular shape. The absorbent assembly has a cupped configuration such that the inner surface is concave and the outer surface is convex. The absorbent pulp material may be formed with a reduced material thickness in at least one slimmer area within the absorbent assembly perimeter that is less than a total area within the absorbent assembly perimeter such that at least two areas having pulp material of differing thickness are defined.

Abstract: Absorbent articles suitable for use as sanitary napkins, diapers, bladder control pads, or other absorbent products are provided. The absorbent articles include a cover layer, a barrier layer, an absorbent layer, and an acquisition layer. The absorbent layer and acquisition layer are interposed between the cover layer and the barrier layer. The absorbent layer has a substantially C-shaped configuration and the acquisition layer lines an inner surface of the absorbent layer and folded regions of the absorbent layer which are oriented towards the cover layer. Products according to the invention may provide any of several benefits, including high performance in terms of at least one of comfort, fit, cost, and producibility.
