  • Publication number: 20240151836
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods, systems, and devices that relate to light detection and ranging (LIDAR). A controlling means for a LIDAR system includes a means for determining a current operational state of the LIDAR system regarding a predefined threshold state. The controlling means also switches the LIDAR system from a first operational mode to a second operational mode when the determined operational state exceeds the predefined threshold state. The second operational mode corresponds to an operational power of at least one operational means of the LIDAR system being lower than in the first operational mode.

  • Patent number: 10986044
Abstract: In some examples, a computing device for processing data streams includes storage to store instructions and a processor to execute the instructions. The processor is to execute the instructions to receive respective data streams provided from a plurality of data producer sensors. The processor is also to execute the instructions to stagger a time of triggering of a first of the plurality of data producer sensors relative to a time of triggering of a second of the plurality of data producer sensors to minimize a concurrency of data frames of the data stream received from the first data producer sensor and data frames of the data stream received from the second of the plurality of data producer sensors. The processor is also to execute the instructions to process the data streams from the plurality of data producer sensors in a time-shared manner. The processor is also to execute the instructions to provide the processed data streams to one or more consumer of the processed data streams.

  • Patent number: 10620457
Abstract: Technologies for controlling vision correction include a wearable computing device having a variable lens, an eye tracking sensor, and a depth sensor. The focal length of the variable lens is electronically adjustable. The wearable computing device determines a gaze direction of a user as a function of eye tracking sensor data received from the eye tracking sensor. The distance to an object positioned in the gaze direction is determined as a function of depth data received from the depth sensor. A new focal length is determined as a function of the distance to the object, and the focal length of the variable lens is adjusted to the new focal length. The new focal length may be selected from a set of pre-defined focal lengths based on the distance to the object or calculated based on the distance to the object. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 9591195
Abstract: Camera control architecture and methods that distribute control responsibilities across hard real-time and soft real-time parts. The operation of digital camera control algorithms can be made less sensitive to timing fluctuations among the various systems within a device platform that includes a camera module (CM) and/or image signal processing (ISP) pipeline. Real-time dispatch of control parameter values may be offloaded from a controller responsible for generating control parameter values. With relaxed timing requirements, camera control algorithm libraries may be developed independent of lower-level hardware responsible for managing the dispatch of control parameter values to the CM and/or ISP.
