Abstract: A method of securing a mounting bracket on a wall of a structural member comprises inserting lugs of the mounting bracket through slots through a wall of the member and securing the lugs to an inside surface of the wall. The mounting bracket is used for mounting the structural member within a cabinet by sliding the member in snug fit within a cabinet, the internal securing of the lugs avoiding interference with the snug fitting relationship.

Abstract: A multi-functional mounting bracket for use in different orientations for mounting respectively different structural members within cabinets comprises a right-angled member including two joined together elongated metal strips. One strip has a straight edge and the other strip has a “peaked” edge including laterally extending projections with gaps therebetween.

Abstract: Shelves for removably receiving circuit board packages including telecommunications equipment are made according to existing design standards thus allowing interchangeability of various shelves among various housing structures, e.g., electrical equipment cabinets. Components of such shelves, consistent with the design standards, but providing certain improvements include two kinds of clips for rigidly but removably securing various cables to the shelves; a recessed handle for a cover plate of the shelves; and two types of brackets for improved and interchangeable mounting of various shelves in various supporting frame assemblies.

Abstract: An electrical connector applies a pressure connection of a flat cable to an LCD or other substrate, especially one of fragile construction. A clamping bar is biased by a restricted width housing to apply evenly distributed clamping pressure along a flat cable and LCD which previously has been fully assembled into the clamping bar.

Abstract: An electrical socket includes a molded insulative base carrying rows of resilient electrical terminals. A leadless chip carrier initially is supported on the terminals, with the pads of the carrier engaging the terminals. A lid is placed over the carrier and is rotatably advanced to press against the carrier, causing the carrier to deflect resiliently the terminals, and to seat against the base. The lid clamps the carrier against the base and is adjustable to accommodate a carrier which varies in height within specified tolerances.

Abstract: An electrical terminal is disclosed for electrical connection to a flat conductor. A lance of the terminal is impaled into one side of the conductor. A pair of tines on the terminal are curled back along themselves, straddling opposite sides of the lance and pressing the impaled conductor against the straddled sides of the lance.
