Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition which contains a) at least one reaction product of a1) a silane of the general formula in which Y(1)=3-glycidyloxypropyl-, and R1, R2, R3=like or unlike alkyl groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and a2) a silane of the general formula in which Y(2)=N-2-aminoethyl-3-aminopropyl- or NH2(CH2)2NH(CH2)2NH(CH)3, and R?1, R?2, R?3=like or unlike alkyl groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and b) at least one inorganic filler, and c) a solvent having a boiling point at a temperature ?85° C., and d) water, and e) a catalyst selected from organic and inorganic acids, to a method of producing a surface coating on a polymeric surface by applying the composition of the invention, and to articles having at least one polymeric surface which have the surface coating of the invention, and to their use.
