    Abstract: A connector for detachably joining the ends of a pair of optical fibers is described that utilizes a unitary V-form groove for coaxial alignment of the fibers to be joined. The fibers can be assembled into the connector one at a time. Positive means are provided to insure positioning of the fibers in end-to-end relation.
