  • Patent number: 4209954
Abstract: A wall panel construction comprising prefinished wall panels of fire resistive material, such as gypsum board, wherein the opposed vertical edges have secured thereto lateral edge members of particular configuration. Initially, the lateral edge members have a flaring configuration exteriorly of the plane of the finished surface of said panels, wherein a filler is applied to provide about planar continuity between the outwardly flaring surface of the lateral edge member and the eventually finished surface of the panel member. Thereafter, finishing by sanding and squaring produces a trued panel to which is applied to decorative coating to produce a finished panel member. Texturized paint or wall covering may be laminated or adhesively secured to the entire exposed finished surface of the panel. Unsecured flaps of the wall covering may also be provided.

  • Patent number: 4112647
Abstract: A movable partition construction which employs a unique overlap joint feature and means for erecting the individual panels in place to obtain a movable partition which has at least a one hour fire rating to thereby provide fire resistive partition wall construction, which is easily erectable and thereafter demountable should the partitioning or removal be desired. The panels are prefabricated on the factory site with a variety of exterior surfaces and are shipped to the building or job site where they are easily positionable into partition wall-forming members permitting the erection of partition walls in relatively short periods of time compared to existing prior art expedients. The resultant wall is fire-resistive and aesthetic in appearance.

  • Patent number: 4047347
Abstract: Panel constructions comprising wall or ceiling panels of, for example, fire resistive material such as gypsum board wherein at least one of the lateral edges of one panel has secured thereto a female mounting member and at least one opposed lateral edge of a second panel has secured thereto a male mounting member. The female mounting member has opposed flanges which receive therebetween opposed surfaces adjacent the lateral edge of the panel and is provided with a central elongate channel for making engagement with a like panel to which has been secured the male mounting member. The male mounting member also comprises a channel-like member secured along the edge wherein opposed flanges receive an intermediate portion of the panel and wherein a protuberance or projecting tongue is received in nesting relationship in the channel of the female member. A covering of vinyl or other decorative material, textured paint or other finish is applied to one surface of each of the panels.
