  • Patent number: 8297728
Abstract: A method enables adjustment of a print speed for a phase change ink imaging device with reference to an ink level sensor in a print head reservoir indicating an open loop or a closed loop state. The adjustment may also be made with reference to a measured image density, which may be a rolling solid area coverage average.

  • Patent number: 7832819
Abstract: A method for controlling print speed of an imaging device is provided. The imaging device includes at least one reservoir for supplying liquid ink to a print head and a level sensor in the reservoir. The method comprises measuring an image density of at least a portion of a print job for the imaging device. A state of a level sensor in a print head reservoir is detected. The print speed is adjusted to a target speed in response to the level sensor indicating an open loop state. The target speed is a function of the image density. The print speed is adjusted to a default speed in response to the level sensor indicating a closed loop state.

  • Patent number: 7616927
Abstract: One or more median filter circuits are used to filter radio link control measurements corresponding to one or more radio link parameters of interest, such as received signal quality or round trip delay measurements, such as might be used by a base station to trigger mobile station handoff. As such measurements are particularly susceptible to measurement outliers arising from rapid but short-lived changes in radio link propagation paths, for example, the application of median filtering to such measurements is particularly advantageous. That is, by operation of median filtering, which is a non-linear filtering process, outliers in a stream of control measurements, such as are caused by instantaneous changes in channel fading or other propagation phenomena, are discarded rather than averaged in with the other measurements. Non-linear filtering as implemented by exemplary median filtering does not impair or otherwise limit the bandwidth of the underlying control measurements.

  • Publication number: 20020069202
Abstract: An emergency medical response database system includes a database containing a plurality of data fields. A data entry interface is provided for entering data into the data fields. The data entry interface permits medical data to be entered into the data fields in substantially any order desired by individual medical personnel. A data field selection filter is disposed between the database and the data entry interface. This permits user organizations to select the data fields from the database which appear on the data entry interface for data entry by individual medical personnel.

  • Patent number: 6368753
Abstract: A method for repairing scalpel masks is described. In particular, opaque defects are repaired by milling with a gallium beam at a sufficient energy to ensure appropriate implantation of gallium into the membrane underlying the blocking material. Transparent defects are repaired using a gallium beam that impacts styrene gas in the vicinity of the defect to be repaired.

  • Patent number: 4783951
Abstract: The harvesting system has a crop cutting device disposed transversely of the direction of travel of the harvesting machine. A crop combing device is disposed adjacent to and extends forwardly of the cutting device. There is provided a pneumatic arrangement for generating a bed of air moving across the combing device in the direction towards the cutting device and generally parallel to the cutting plane of the cutting device. The moving bed of air facilitates gathering of the crop and reduces grain loss. The pneumatic arrangement includes nozzles for discharging air whereby to create said bed and a delivery system for delivering air under pressure to the nozzles. The nozzles are located in the plane of the bed and the delivery system is disposed generally beneath the combing device. Also disclosed is a finger attachment for a known harvesting system of agricultural machines. The finger attachment facilitates conversion of the known harvesting system to a harvesting system according to the invention.

  • Patent number: 4068522
Abstract: A gas leak detector incorporated in a rotary valve intended to be mounted in a gas system adjacent the source of gas, the detector valve having a first position permitting flow from the source into the system, and a second position in which any gas entering the system due to a large or small leak in the system is made visible as it passes through a bubble chamber. Alternatively, a U-tube monometer is used to indicate drop in pressure due to a leak in the system. Also two embodiments are arranged as to be assembled for left hand or right hand use, one of which is arranged to be held in TEST position, the valve moving to OFF position when released while in TEST position.
