Patent number: 11085615Abstract: A plaster frame is provided for recessed lighting luminaires, wherein the main hole size is not fixed, but adjustable, and in more than one shape opening, e.g. round, square, rectangular, and other opening shapes as required. The plaster frame has an adjustable hole, the concept here disclosed comprises a series of moving leaves and may also contain an actuating ring, the rotation of which cause the leaves to move inward or outward, changing the hole, or aperture. Although fasteners may be used to retain the various moving elements, these adjustable openings can also be utilized without the use of any fasteners.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2020Date of Patent: August 10, 2021Inventors: Lloyd Sevack, Abdelmoula Elbannaoui, Ovidiu Ivan, Abdelkrim Oudian

Patent number: 8082859Abstract: A stable mountable blind shelf support is mounted upon a wall having wall studs. A blind shelf mount for a shelf includes either a mounting disk or a baseplate with fasteners and a support post, such as a hex post, and is attached by further fasteners to a wall stud. Prior to installation, the wall is marked with mounting locations on the back edge of a shelf by transferring impressions from the support post or fasteners. Lines are scribed using a carpenter's square at each location of an impressed mark; then the midpoint of thickness at each site is marked. A counterbore is formed at each marked site on the back edge of the shelf and then the location of the drilled post holes is derived. The holes thus formed accept posts formed for two or more routed recesses in registration with each other in the finished laminated built-up shelf.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2006Date of Patent: December 27, 2011Inventor: Lloyd Sevack

Patent number: 6719438Abstract: A trim assembly is mounted by a resilient spring in a housing, which is recessed in a ceiling, to support a light fixture. The trim assembly includes a cylindrical collar insertable within the housing and a flange with a central opening supporting one end of the cylindrical collar surrounding the opening being flush with the ceiling, when the trim assembly is mounted within the housing. A gimbal, which is located within and spaced apart from the collar, supports the light fixture. The springs are attached to opposite sides of an outer surface of the collar, for engaging an inner surface of the housing, to hold the trim assembly in place. In addition, the gimbal is retained within the collar by fasteners which allow limited rotation of the gimbal.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2003Date of Patent: April 13, 2004Assignee: Tripar Inc.Inventors: Lloyd Sevack, Mario Viscusi

Patent number: 6676495Abstract: A powered sharpening system utilizing a turntable to rotate reversible, interchangeable platters carrying different grades of abrasive for grinding, polishing and lapping woodworking and other edge tools to be sharpened that are secured in a tool holder that contacts a reference surface on a tool rest to facilitate formation of bevels and micro-bevels at desired angles. Use of a platter of a first thickness followed by a thinner platter enables automatic formation of a micro-bevel without any adjustment in the tool holder, tool rest or sharpening technique. The turntable is rotated by an electric motor that also rotates a conventional abrasive wheel or a conventional narrow abrasive belt. The motor is mounted in a base within which a duct is located for coupling to a vacuum system for removing, through ports in the duct, abrasive and metal particles produced in grinding and sharpening. Blades on the underside of the turntable induce airflow through the base to cool the motor and other components.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2000Date of Patent: January 13, 2004Assignee: Lee Valley Tools Ltd.Inventors: Matthew Bruce Siemers, Eric Irwin, Leonard G. Patent number: 6615497Abstract: Bench planes of different sizes having interchangeable components and an adjustable frog providing full blade support with a frog foot that extends through the plane body mouth to terminate co-planer or nearly co-planer with the sole. The rear plane handle or tote is captured between and secured soley to tines projecting from the frog that is adjustably secured to alternative sizes of plane bodies in a manner permitting forward and backward adjustment of the frog position without removing the plane blade. Superior lateral blade position control is provided by set screws in the plane body and contacting blade side edges. Adjustments in the blade cutting angle without modifying the angle at which the blade is held by the frog in the plane may be made by forming a front bevel on the front surface of the blade.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2001Date of Patent: September 9, 2003Assignee: Lee Valley Tools, Ltd.Inventors: Terry Ross Saunders, Lloyd Sevack, Leonard G. Patent number: 5890524Abstract: A router table sled for use with a router table and a router table fence includes an arm assembly that rides along the fence and a strut assembly that supports the workpiece. The arm assembly includes a slider that slides along an upper edge of the fence and an arm attached to an upper edge of the slide. The arm is usually in a position perpendicular to the slide. The arm is also coupled to a strut assembly that includes a main strut, and two additional struts located beneath the main strut. Each strut includes a longitudinally-centered T-shaped slot formed into top, front, and rear faces. The front faces of each strut lie substantially within the same plane. The two lower struts have opposing edges that are spaced a predetermined distance from each other. When a workpiece is clamped to the faces of the struts, an edge may be placed against the fence. The workpiece may then be moved across the router bit to produce a square cut.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 1998Date of Patent: April 6, 1999Assignee: Lee Valley Tools Ltd.Inventors: Edwin C. Tucker, Steve K. Jones, Lloyd Sevack

Patent number: 5725038Abstract: A router baseplate and router table, and a method for accurately mounting the baseplate on a router base and machining table top material to receive the baseplate so that the router may be used suspended upside down in the table top. The router baseplate is a relatively thin plate centered on the router collet that remains attached to the router for free hand use and that is received snugly in a hole in the table top supported by a ledge adjacent to the hole. Two opposed sections of the ledge are omitted so that the router and baseplate can be installed in the table top from the bottom of the table top by tilting the router and baseplate, sliding the baseplate through the openings in the ledge, and then untilting the router and seating the baseplate edge on the ledge. Movement during use in the tabletop is limited by a pin fixed in the baseplate and received in a recess in the ledge.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 1996Date of Patent: March 10, 1998Assignee: Lee Valley Tools Ltd.Inventors: Edwin C. Tucker, Lloyd Sevack

Patent number: 5715880Abstract: A router table assembly utilizing a steel plate table top penetrated by a stepped opening having slightly non-concentric round holes. A table top insert is received in the stepped opening, which insert is a round plastic disk having a ledge formed by a disk portion of smaller diameter which matches the smaller hole in the top and which smaller disk portion is slightly offset from the layer diameter portion. The disk is positioned in the top opening and is rotated approximately one-fourth revolution until the cam-like action of the non-concentric portion locks the disk in place. Jaw-like router base clamp mechanisms have plates adjustable to the size and shape of numerous router bases and can be positioned once, after which the router can be removed and remounted in exactly the same position if assured centricity in the table top.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 1996Date of Patent: February 10, 1998Inventors: Edwin C. Tucker, Lloyd Sevack, Leonard G. Lee
