  • Publication number: 20240112839
Abstract: Biomagnetic separation system comprising an outer ring and an inner ring of permanent magnets, the outer ring being a quadrupole Halbach Cylinder and the inner ring being a Halbach Cylinder with N poles. The diameter of the cylinders and other conditions are chosen so that at the inner radius of the inner ring the magnetic field gradient is greater at the vessel wall than the magnetic field gradient of the outer ring alone.

  • Patent number: 11698381
Abstract: Method for detecting the presence or absence of a biological or chemical substance in a particular sample mixed with a suspension with functionalized magnetic particles, comprising: providing a light source and detector, providing a constant magnetic force perpendicular to the light's propagation direction by applying a constant magnetic field gradient, and with an absolute value which is higher than 0.1 T and measuring the change of the magnetic particle's suspension transparency versus time and comparing it with the time-variation in absence of the targeted biological or chemical substance. The method of the invention allows monitoring the transparency irrespective of the emitted wavelength and particle's optical properties.

  • Publication number: 20140166584
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for separating magnetic particles, for separating magnetic particles from a sample housed in an inner space (1) of the separating device. In accordance with the invention, the magnetic field is generated with a specific configuration of the magnets (3). This specific configuration enables devices of different sizes with a reduced number of magnets or types of magnets to be established.

  • Publication number: 20090326399
Abstract: A system for detecting the heart beat rate of a person in a vehicle, comprising: at least one magnetic field sensor (11, 12) mounted inside the vehicle in a position close to a person's seat in the vehicle; and signal processing circuitry (2, 13) arranged to receive an output signal from said at least one magnetic field sensor, and to extract from said output signal data indicative of a heart beat rate. The invention also relates to a system for fatigue detection, and to the corresponding methods.
