  • Publication number: 20230238804
Abstract: A power transfer system includes a first branch including a controlled switch and a second branch including a variable frequency converter, in parallel between an AC network and a reversible pump-turbine, the variable frequency converter includes: a first AC/DC converter having a first DC interface, and a second AC/DC converter having a second DC interface, the first and second DC interfaces being connected by a DC link, a control circuit having a first mode wherein it simultaneously opens the switch and it transfers electrical power until it reaches the same frequency on two AC interfaces, and having a second mode wherein it closes the switch of the first branch; an energy storage system; and a switching system for selectively connecting the energy storage system to the DC link.

  • Patent number: 11025069
Abstract: Electrical power distribution system for supplying a set of fixed-frequency loads and a set of variable-frequency loads, includes a set of at least one fixed-frequency AC voltage generator and a set of at least one variable-frequency AC voltage generator, a DC distribution network supplying the variable-frequency loads by means of inverter stages, a first set of rectifier stages connected between the fixed-frequency generators and the distribution network, and a second set of rectifier stages connected between the variable-frequency generators and the DC distribution network. The first set of rectifier stages includes bidirectional rectifiers capable of providing a bidirectional transfer of power and protection means against fault currents connected between the bidirectional rectifiers and the distribution network.

  • Patent number: 10450044
Abstract: This electrical energy distribution system comprises assembly of electrical energy generators each driven by a heat engine and supplying a distribution network; means for recovering the heat energy generated during the operation of the heat engines and for vaporizing a working fluid; steam turbine driven by the working fluid and associated with a generator connected to the distribution network for converting the recovered heat energy into electrical energy and at least one frequency converter arranged between the distribution network and an electrical load. It comprises means for controlling the frequency of the distribution network, where the flow rate of the vaporized working fluid is regulated to a maximum value.
