  • Publication number: 20010033492
Abstract: An illuminated diagnosable buckle assembly for a seat restraint system in a vehicle includes a housing and a buckle disposed in the housing and operatively connected to vehicle structure for receiving a latch plate. The illuminated diagnosable buckle assembly also includes a switch disposed in the housing and cooperable with the latch plate to indicate an unbuckled and buckled position. • Patent number: 5829838
Abstract: An integral seatback frame and headrest frame cushion and cover that accommodates angular and/or upward motion of the headrest relative to the seatback. A lower, primary cushion and integral, upper front flap cover the front of the seatback frame and headrest frame respectively, concealing the gap between the two. A rear flap covers most of the back surface of the headrest frame, and the two flaps are not secured tightly to the surfaces of the headrest frame, but have some internal clearance therefrom. When the headrest frame rocks forward, the two covering flaps travel with it without binding or stretching the cushion material.

  • Patent number: 5536106
Abstract: A connection between a shaft and a hub includes a straight bore in the hub, a plunger bore in the hub intersecting the straight bore, a straight end on the shaft matching the straight bore in the hub, a longitudinal notch in the straight end of the shaft which faces and cooperates with the plunger bore in defining a plunger chamber between the shaft and the hub, a plunger moveable back and forth in the plunger bore, and a spring urging the plunger toward the shaft. A hub side of the plunger chamber defined by the plunger bore converges with a shaft side of plunger chamber defined by the longitudinal notch. The spring biases an enlarged head of the plunger toward the apex of the plunger chamber.

  • Patent number: 4143497
Abstract: The arrangement shown and described herein is used to seal a closure structure of a vehicle body. A weatherstrip including metal strip inserts is extruded to include not only the usual hollow deflection bulb, but also a hollow flange sealing bulb, formed in a predetermined shape on the center portion of the side surface opposite the deflection bulb. When the retention portion of the weatherstrip around the metal strip inserts is crimped to form its operational "U" shaped recess, the flange sealing bulb is located at the bottom of the recess, substantially uniformly filling the space heretofor selectively filled with a bead of butyl mastic sealant. Once the thus formed weatherstrip is installed on a body closure flange or ledge, the edge of the flange or ledge depresses the hollow sealing bulb such that the latter effectively and uniformly seals off the inside of the flange or ledge from the outside thereof.
