  • Publication number: 20120275195
Abstract: A power supply may include a power transformer having a primary winding and a secondary winding, one end of the secondary winding connected to ground, and a shielded isolation transformer having a third winding, a fourth winding, and a shield, wherein the third winding is connected to the secondary winding and the shield is connected to ground. Primary side circuits may receive input power and generate a primary AC signal to drive the primary winding. Secondary side circuits may convert a secondary AC signal output from the fourth winding into a DC output.

  • Publication number: 20050242668
Abstract: A system and method is provided for dynamically controlling output voltage slew rate in a power converter. Preferred embodiments of the present invention operate in accordance with a power converter including at least a slew-rate control lead (a trim lead, a control lead, etc.), an error-amplifier circuit located therein, a slew-rate circuit, and a controller electrically connected to the power converter and adapted to dynamically control the converter's output voltage slew rate through the transmission of a slew-rate signal. In one embodiment of the present invention, the slew-rate circuit is external to the power converter and electrically connected to both a trim lead of the power converter and to the controller. In another embodiment of the present invention, the slew-rate circuit is internal to the power converter and electrically connected to both a control lead of the power converter and to the error-amplifier circuit.

  • Patent number: 5869969
Abstract: A temperature compensation module for use with battery charger/rectifier units. The compensation module is used to vary the battery charger output voltage as a function of temperature. This is done by controlling the series impedance of the charger's voltage sense leads. The impedance is controlled to produce a voltage offset in series with the sense leads. Thus, the charger's output voltage is equal to its adjusted output voltage plus the offset voltage.

  • Patent number: 4825347
Abstract: A pulse width modulation control circuit utilizes a retriggerable monostable multivibrator as a high speed comparator which compares a reference waveform with a control signal level to effect variable termination of modulated output pulses. The control circuit finds particular applicability to pulse width modulated switched mode power supplies.
