  • Patent number: 11544761
Abstract: A food product recommendation system may include a camera configured to obtain an image of a food product area having available food products and a remote device associated with a given user. The system may also include a recommendation server configured to cooperate with the remote device to obtain a desired food product characteristic from the given user and determine recommended food products from the available food products based upon the desired food product characteristic. The recommendation server may also be configured to associate a corresponding food product identifier to each recommended food product and communicate the recommended food products to the remote device. The remote device may display the image of the food product area with the recommended food products augmented with the corresponding food product identifiers and obtain user selection for purchase of at least one of the recommended food products based upon the corresponding food product identifier.

  • Patent number: 11282059
Abstract: A food item system may include a remote device associated with a given shopper and a weight sensor associated with a food product display that includes food items. The food item system may also include a food item processing server configured to add at least one user selected food item from among the food items to a virtual shopping cart associated with the given shopper based upon proximity of the remote device to the food product display and a change in weight from the weight sensor indicative that the at least one user selected food item has been removed from the food product display. The food item processing server may also be configured to communicate the virtual shopping cart of the given shopper for checkout.

  • Patent number: 5558840
Abstract: A device for holding and positioning a specimen cup for collection of a biological specimen with a ring (18) with a handle (14) attached by a hinge (24). The ring (18) receives and securely supports a specimen cup. The hinge (24) allows the handle (14) to assume folded or extended positions relative to the ring (18). The handle (14) extends outward and upward from the ring (18) when in use, thereby, removing one's hand from the specimen cup. One can then more easily hold and position the specimen cup without soiling their hand with the specimen. The hinge (24) also allows the handle (14) to be folded and secured to the ring (18) to facilitate packaging.

  • Patent number: 5202094
Abstract: An specimen cup holder is provided which permits a person to position a conventional specimen gathering device, such as a specimen cup, for receipt of a specimen without contact with the specimen. The specimen cup holder is provided with a specimen cup engaging assembly having a handle member connectable thereto such that the handle member extends outwardly from the specimen cup engaging assembly. The connector assembly, which connects the handle member to the specimen cup engaging assembly, is provided with a female member and a male member. The interconnection of the handle member to the specimen cup engaging assembly via the male and female members of the connector assembly enables a person to grasp a gripping portion of the handle member and easily position the specimen cup for receipt of the specimen.

  • Patent number: 5174965
Abstract: A specimen gathering device is disclosed which permits a person to position the specimen gathering device for receipt of a specimen without contact with the specimen. Broadly, the specimen gathering device includes a container member and a handle assembly. The handle assembly is provided with a gripping portion which is selectively movable between a first position and a second position. In the first position the gripping portion is disposed substantially adjacent the container member; whereas, in the second position the gripping portion extends outwardly and upwardly form the container member. Thus, when the handle assembly is in the second position, a person grasping the gripping portion of the handle assembly can readily position the container member for receipt of the specimen without contact with the specimen.
