  • Patent number: 5422112
Abstract: Cosmetic compositions are provided containing a thickening system that includes a heterobiopolysaccharide gum such as xanthan gum, an inorganic thickening agent such as magnesium aluminum silicate and a polyacrylamide. These compositions are particularly effective with thickening C.sub.1 -C.sub.25 .alpha.-hydroxy carboxylic acids and salts thereof, especially at low pH.
