  • Patent number: 8792617
Abstract: In a method to create dual energy x-ray image data of a predetermined volume segment of an examination subject with an x-ray system, a low-energy x-ray image data of the volume segment is created, a high-energy x-ray image data of the volume segment is created, the low-energy x-ray image data is subtracted from the high-energy x-ray image data to create the dual energy x-ray image data. An x-ray filter that consists essentially of titanium is used in the creation of the dual energy x-ray image data.

  • Patent number: 7298882
Abstract: A method for defining image quality characteristics of X-ray based medical projection imaging devices is provided. A spatial frequency-dependent signal-to-noise ratio function includes image quality parameters of spatial resolution, object contrast and noise. The detectability of an object embedded into a defined background, such as a cardiac guide wire in a patient is determined. An X-ray system may be defined and set up for obtaining an optimized image quality to determine the best object detectability for a given patient dose.

  • Patent number: 6341156
Abstract: In an x-ray diagnostic apparatus for tomosynthesis or laminographic imaging using a patient positioning table, an x-ray source which emits an x-ray beam on one side of the patient positioning table, an x-ray detector arranged on the other side of the patient positioning table for the capture of the x-ray beam and for producing digital images, a device for movement of the x-ray source, a device for shifting of the x-ray detector and a device for superimposing the digital images so that only the details lying in a specific longitudinal slice for an examination subject are sharply imaged, the x-ray detector is rotated relative to the movement direction at an angle.
