  • Patent number: 5618204
Abstract: A panel mount connector comprises a panel mount component and a movable component. The panel mount connector can be mounted to a panel by a combined sealing and provisional mounting ring. The movable connector part comprises a terminal receiving housing and a bayonet type rotatable locking ring having a first axial position allowing mounting of a rubber boot to the housing, the locking ring retractable to a second position partially extending over the rubber boot in order to prevent it from being accidentally pulled off the housing. The connectors can then be mated together by aligning keying means of the housing with corresponding keying means of the panel connector housing, axially moving the housings together, and then rotating the bayonet type locking ring until an end position whereby the sealing ring is compressed between a flange of the locking ring and the panel for sealing therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4772229
Abstract: Connector plug comprises a housing having main body part and a separate terminal retaining member which retains the terminals in the cavities of the housing. The terminal retaining member extends into a recess which is between the ends of the main body of the housing and has retaining ears that prevent movement of the terminals from the cavities. The retaining member is releasably latched to the main body part of the housing by a latch arm that is contained within the main body part. An access opening is provided in the main body part of the housing to permit disengagement of the latch arm and removal of the terminal retainer part from the main body part. The connector is sealed and is relatively compact.

  • Patent number: 4284320
Abstract: An electrical connector housing is formed of two relatively slidable parts movable between a condition in which contact cavities are aligned, for insertion of contacts and a condition in which the cavities are slightly out of alignment so that one housing part presents shoulders overlapping edges of cavities in the other part for positively retaining contacts in the other part. The housing parts have interengaging guide means and resilient latch means securing the housing parts in the second condition.

  • Patent number: 4268731
Abstract: An electrical switch comprises a pair of spaced terminals, fixed in an insulating housing; a metal roller; and, a finger-piece for moving the roller between first and second switching positions engaging only one and both terminals respectively. The one terminal is resiliently flexed to bias the roller against the second terminal in the second switching position. The one terminal comprises a cantilever spring having an upset end protruding into the roller path and providing the fulcrum for an overcenter action biassing the roller in either switching position.

  • Patent number: 4255004
Abstract: A junction box comprising a stack of terminal boards sandwiched between opposite faces of a rigid insulating housing, each terminal board comprising a series of metal strips spaced apart on an insulating sheet to define discrete current paths, substantially rigid end portions of at least some of the strips extending from each layer perpendicularly of the planes of the layers and being located in channels formed in insulating ribs in the housing to provide contact portions for connection of external circuitry to current paths in respective layers.
