  • Publication number: 20220389981
Abstract: The application relates to a brake system for a vehicle, comprising a brake piston connectable to a brake pad and configured for performing a braking motion to press the brake pad against a friction surface, a hydraulic brake unit configured for hydraulic actuation of the braking motion, an electro-mechanical parking brake actuator configured for actuating the braking motion comprising a spindle rotatable by an electric motor, and a nut such that a rotational motion of the spindle leads to a translational motion of the nut, wherein the nut is coupled with the brake piston such that a translational motion of the nut toward the brake piston actuates the braking motion of the brake piston, wherein the brake system further comprises an elastic member coupling the brake piston with the nut, configured to drive a motion of the brake piston in a direction opposite the direction of the braking motion.

  • Publication number: 20210373164
Abstract: The invention relates to imaging 3-D time-of-flight sensors that are particularly suitable for the detection of objects and individuals in three-dimensional space. This capability results from the basic principle. In each image point of the sensor, the distance to the object located in the observation space is determined by using the propagation time (time of flight) of light pulses. The sensor therefore supplies a three-dimensional image, which can be analyzed by means of suitable processing algorithms. In specific applications, in particular in the interaction of human and machine, machine and machine, or machine and space, it is necessary that the detection is carried out safely. The level of safety is classified in various standards into safety integrity levels.

  • Publication number: 20110180354
Abstract: A disc brake for motor vehicle is discussed, which is of a simple design, comprises few parts, requires few machines for its manufacture and is low-noise and easy to assemble. For this purpose, the brake anchor plate receives in the receiving eyes retaining bolts which in turn support the brake linings. The floating caliper is connected by springs and through-points to the lining carriers.

  • Patent number: 6478120
Abstract: The invention relates to an actuating apparatus (12) with automatic clearance adjustment for a vehicle hydraulic disk brake and includes a housing (14) having a base (16) and a shell (18) in which an open cylinder bore (20) is provided. For actuating the brake, a piston (24) is hydraulically displaceable in the bore. A mechanical actuating device for displacing the piston in the bore and for compensating lining wear comprises an expanding device (34) acting axially in a brake actuating direction and a length adjustable strut between the expanding device and the piston. The strut is formed by a first strut part (52) having a bolt shaped end, which is screwed into a second, substantially sleeve shaped strut part (54), which rests with a conical flange (68) against the piston. Between the bolt shaped end of the first strut part and the second strut part there is a cavity (90) which is to be filled with brake fluid and closed off in a fluid tight manner at one end.

  • Patent number: 6382367
Abstract: An actuating piston (10) of a hydraulically and mechanically actuable, spot-type disk brake for motor vehicles, which is disposed in a sealing and displaceable manner in a cylinder bore of the disk brake is provided with an axial-force-transmitting conical surface (18) cooperating with a corresponding conical surface of a mechanical actuating device of the disk brake. To make the actuating piston (10) lighter in weight but nevertheless to withstand greater stress, the part of the actuating piston (10) comprising the axial-force-transmitting conical surface (18) consists of steel and the part of the actuating piston (10) cooperating with the cylinder bore of the disk brake is made of light metal or of plastics material, said components of the actuating piston being constructed as a single-piece composite component.

  • Patent number: 5671639
Abstract: A lever 22, which comprises a slot 28 and an abutment 30, is supported on a housing 18 so as to pivot about a pivot axis A. A cable 40, which is supported against the abutment 30 via an enlarged butt end 42, is placed in position in the slot 28, such that the lever 22 can be pivoted by a pulling force C of the cable. The lever 22 comprises a projection 34 which, in extension of the cable 40 and defining an intermediate space 32, is disposed opposite the abutment 30. The end 42 is accommodated in the intermediate space 32 and is supported against the projection 34 for transmitting a pushing force D of the cable. The projection is provided, at its side facing away from the abutment 30, with a ramp 38, on to which ramp the end 42 of the cable 40 is adapted to be placed, when the cable is inserted in the slot, and from which ramp the end 42 slides downward into the intermediate space 32 when a pulling force C is exerted on the cable.
