  • Patent number: 8702025
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an improved rewind apparatus for a flexible member. Specifically, the invention provides a retractable spool and a mechanism which allows a user to move a switch so that he/she has a choice of having the spool always pulling on the flexible member, a Tension mode of operation, or using a No Tension mode of operation that allows the flexible member to relax, and then, with a brief tug on the flexible member, retraction forces of a spring causes the flexible member to be wound around the spool.

  • Patent number: 8646768
Abstract: A holder adapted to be attached to a tether to help retrieve a dropped tool or prevent a dropped tool from being lost or forgotten during use where the holder has a hollow member with an open end and a closed end and is adapted to frictionally hold a non-working end of a tool in the hollow member. The closed end of the hollow member has a centrally located opening within which is located a cylindrical member which is connected at one end to a shoulder connector and is coupled, either directly or indirectly, to an attachment means at its other end. The cylindrical member can be either fixed or rotatably coupled to the opening in the hollow member and the attachment means is configured to be attached to an end of a tether.

  • Publication number: 20120003030
Abstract: Novel pen structures for securing pen cap to a pen. A tethering structure is mounted to a securing ring that is mounted on the holding barrel a pen. The attached tether then holds a cap close to the holding barrel and the cap can therefore either be placed over or be removed from the writing tip without being detached from the holding barrel.

  • Patent number: 4969399
Abstract: A mine sweeping method and related apparatus for achieving at least tempoy passivation of underwater acoustic influence mines, by the generation of particular underwater sounds of progressively increasing intensity. The water is by repetitively injecting into the water individual metered slugs of heated water, which water is heated to its saturation pressure but below the critical point. The metered slugs of heated water may be of the same or of progressively increasing size, i.e. weight, and can be released from a heated pressure chamber into the water from either a stationary array or from an array towed from a moving ship, and at a depth such tht the expanding bubbles, produced by the change of state of the heated water, do not break the water surface. The rapid expansion of the metered slugs produce the desired sound output for temporarily rendering the acoustic influence mines passive by actuating their anticountermine circuits.
